We really enjoyed our stay at Alpik Chalet in Ukanc. The location is absolutely beautiful, right at the foot of the mountains and surrounded by an idyllic landscape. It felt peaceful and secluded while still being only about a 10-minute walk from the lake and beach, which was one of our favorite things about the location. The lake itself was gorgeous for swimming. The garden was also lovely. We really enjoyed being able to pick some fresh vegetables and herbs during our stay, which was such a nice touch. The kitchen was very well equipped, making it easy to cook and keep our own food on hand. The welcome when we arrived was especially thoughtful. We were greeted with wine, little cakes, and cheese, which was a really lovely touch. The woman who checked us in was also incredibly nice and accommodating. She brought us extra coffee when we needed it and even helped us with batteries for the TV remote.

There were a few things that could have made the stay more comfortable. The chalet was quite hot, and there was no air conditioning. In my opinion, if there isn’t AC, having fans available or mosquito nets on the windows would be helpful so guests can keep the windows open comfortably at night. The bed was also a little harder than we prefer and the comforters were quite warm and heavy for summertime without AC. The bathroom was another minor issue. There is no door on the shower, so water ended up getting all over the bathroom floor every time we showered. We also would have appreciated a little more information about transportation from Ukanc. The location is gorgeous, but there is only one restaurant within easy walking distance and it requires reservations. It would have been helpful to know whether there was a bus or other public transportation option for getting to nearby towns for meals or other outings. We also wished beach towels were provided and that there were kayaks, SUPs, or beach chairs available to borrow. We did use the laundry service for €25, and they did an excellent job. It was very well done and convenient, although it would have been nice to have the option to use the washing machine ourselves as well.

Wonderful stay - the surroundings are stunning, the chalet is charming and extremely well equipped, and the owner extremely responsive and helpful. Our 4 year old girl lined exploring the back yard and the lovely stream behind the cabin.

We absolutely loved Alpik! Amazing location, beautiful setting and the chalets were gorgeous and super comfy. Having a sauna inside the chalet was wonderful. Being right on the river was special.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

We arrived late so it was easy to enter without any problem.

The breakfast was in my opinion to expensive for what we got and it was less suitable for the kids: no eggs, no milk, no cornflakes/granola.
