We absolutely fell in love with the fort. It is a magical place and our hosts Rita and Miguel made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Miguel shared a lot of information with us and was very friendly & funny! The breakfast buffet was outstanding and we loved sitting on the wall looking out at the river and ocean watching the fisherman and birds. We woke up early and walked down the river to watch the sunset.

Miguel and Rita were so sweet, helpful and accommodating. Such a gem of a place would absolutely come back!

unique experience staying in a castle/monument. great personal. amazing breakfast at the terrace of the castle by the sea.

If you like something a bit different... not a luxury stay, but full of character. They have 10 rooms, 5 smaller rooms in a more modern block and 5 larger rooms built into the old part of the castle. Access to the castle is along a dirt track and then you have to get yourself and your luggage through a 1m high door. The car park is in the old moat. Breakfast was perfect for our taste. There is an honesty bar for day / evening drinks and snacks. Local restaurants are either a 1km drive away or a 300m walk through the moat, down some steep steps and along the beach. Staff were very nice. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Nothing....as long as you don't mind staying in a very old place that is a little remote.

breakfast was varied with high quality products that included local produce, in a superb location with fantastic views. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The beach is very close and boat transport is included in the rate.

Location, peacefulness, environment, surroundings

The place is poorly maintained. The room had 2 lamps that didn’t work, no blackout and a lot of sunlight in the morning. Had a fridge swinging inside and old wardrobe that wouldn't close because of the wire… Ikea accessories everywhere… such a glamorous and historical place deserves more refinement and sophistication.

One of the most beautiful locations, settings and hotel I've stayed in. Unique is the word. A fortress overlooking the sand islands and the see, a lovely honesty bar to enjoy the evening from the fortress walls. amazing.

Breakfast is amazing. The view is unbeatable. The property feels like a piece of history.

It seems that the only option for lunch and dinner is to go somewhere else, since you are not allowed to bring food or drinks from outside and they don't offer meals.

We had such a wonderful break. Everything about our stay was perfect; so much so, that we’d love to return next summer. Thank you Cecilia for your warm welcome and hospitality.
