There were some definite positives to our stay. We were on the 32nd floor and the view was fantastic. The breakfast was good, the air conditioning worked well, and the free shuttle to the beach was very useful. The lifts were also more reliable than some reviews had suggested - for most of our stay, three out of four were operating, and being on such a high floor actually made it fairly easy to get into an empty lift.

Unfortunately, there were many negatives. My biggest disappointment happened before we even arrived. There was a serious data-security issue involving my reservation. I received two separate fraudulent messages from different numbers impersonating the hotel, containing my personal information and exact booking details and directing me to suspicious links. Booking.com suggested the issue was connected to the property, while the property told me it was Booking.com’s responsibility. Ultimately, neither side appeared willing to take responsibility. I requested cancellation because of the circumstances. I fully appreciate that I had originally booked a non-refundable rate, but given the security issue and the fact that my personal and booking information had clearly reached scammers, I felt a discretionary cancellation and refund would have been a reasonable response. The property refused. This was by far the most disappointing part of the whole experience and has made me think twice about using Booking.com again. As for the apartment itself, it was very basic. There was an intermittent drainage/sewage smell, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the wall-mounted shower gel and hand soap dispensers barely worked. Out of approximately six dispensers in the apartment, only one worked properly. We ended up buying our own toiletries. There is little point providing dispensers if guests cannot actually use them. Cleanliness could also have been better. There was a significant amount of dust underneath the beds, which looked as though it had not been cleaned for quite some time, and there were numerous marks on the walls. Housekeeping was extremely limited during our one-week stay. On one occasion we were given fresh bed linen, but no fresh towels, and the rubbish bins were not emptied during the week. The twin bedroom had no bedside tables at all. Instead there was a shelf positioned between and above the beds, which was very impractical.
