Hotel Angostura

Nuestra estadía en el Hotel Angostura fue espectacular. Lo primero que te enamora son las vistas increíbles del lago Nahuel Huapi desde el hotel; la ubicación al lado del puerto y de Bahía Mansa es simplemente inmejorable. El desayuno nos encantó, es súper completo, rico y con todo lo necesario para arrancar el día con energía. Un detalle que nos pareció fantástico y súper útil es que tienen a disposición una estación con agua fría y agua caliente para el mate las 24 horas, algo que como viajeros se agradece muchísimo al regresar de las excursiones. El personal fue súper amable en todo momento y el ambiente del hotel te transmite una paz absoluta. Sin duda, un lugar ideal para descansar y disfrutar del paisaje. ¡Súper recomendado! No recomendaría ir con niños ya que es un lugar que se caracteriza por ser tranquilo y silencioso. Los dias que fuimos que fueron 8 era un total silencio en todo el día, espectacular.

I was given a fairly large room in a two-story hotel. The hotel is situated in a wooded park area, not far from the lakeshore. Coniferous and fruit trees grow all around, filling the air with wonderful scents. It takes about 10 minutes by car to reach the main town, where you’ll find a supermarket, a gas station, and other amenities useful for tourists. The hotel interior features wood finishes and real wood furniture—the beds and floors are genuine wood, not plastic. You can even smell the wood, though the floors do creak a bit. The room has two beds, warm radiators, and a fully equipped bathroom, including a bathtub. There was a drinking glass in the room (a sign of a high-quality hotel by my standards) and no TV—which, in my view, raises the hotel's standing even further. The staff don't speak English but use translation apps and are very friendly. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but it’s sufficient. You can also have dinner at the same café in the evening. I didn't have much time, but it was clear there were picturesque spots and a pier nearby. By the way, the hotel has its own parking lot. There is a ski resort 25 km away.

There was nothing I didn't like. My only concern was that the creaking sounds caused by me moving around the room might disturb the neighbors. I want to warn travelers that Argentina uses specific types of electrical outlets, so you should bring the right adapters with you. For mobile phones, I recommend using prepaid "Claro" SIM cards; they can be activated quickly right at the point of sale. Never buy "Personal" cards—they are really only suitable for Argentines. For foreigners, they are a major headache and a waste of money. You have to find an official company office to register them, and the staff there rarely speak English and are completely unfriendly. That was definitely something I didn't like.
