The host Esteban was so kind and sweet and hospitable. I was traveling with my elder mom and a friend and we weren't very well prepared for Monteverde. He was very conscious of what we needed such as lending us ponchos for the rain. His whole host family was really nice. The location was lovely and quiet but within a short taxi ride away from the town. We hiked Monteverde's reserve twice, and it was good to be close by to it. The hotel across the street has a swimming pool that you can use if you buy food or pay a $8 fee to swim. I loved that.

Everything was amazing! The location in the forest, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the room was very comfortable and clean. We would 100% stay here again!

There is only one restaurant in the walking distance, so not many options. It was ok though.

It was a little past the main drag, although it's close to the Cloudforest reserve, and we could walk to town on some trails / sidewalks.

You have to walk- if you want to walk- to the city 3,5 km and part of the way is dark.

We stayed in a small well appointed apartment so there was no breakfast. Meals could be taken in a hotel across the street. The lodge is very close to the entrance to the Monteverde Preserve.

We were cold but it is understandable because of the altitude and we should have known better and brought warmer clothing. Our fault...!

included superb coffee we made in room. MonteVerde dark roast. The host was very accommodating for our every need. Estephon supplied extra blankets because it got cold at night 14 C. 58 F.

it did not have a heater. I was told heaters are not common in hotels or private residences in Costa Rica

All great, one of the closest options to the park entrance, you can get in 20 minutes there by foot. The room was big and clean.

It was damn cold in the evening, there is no heating inside the room so take warm clothes with you.

A really fabulous apartment for family, big kitchen, comfortable rooms, two bathrooms, big hangout space and with a lovely deck looking out into the forest. The place was absolutely immaculate. We talked with Esteban who was nice as can be. Loved the location, a bit out of the hustle and bustle and up right near Monteverde reserve, within walking distance if you don't mind an uphill hoof. The road to the place was bumpy but completely fine for a cheapo rental car. We saw many lovely birds and a pack of monkeys just sitting in the apartment. As other reviews have said, it can be a bit cool in the evening, the beds were warm but there is no heat. You'll want some warm clothes, an extra sweatshirt let's say, you will maybe want that anyways just to be up at monteverde. We did not eat breakfast here, we used the kitchen and ate most of our meals there. We would definitely recommend this place, especially for a family of four as we had the upstairs apartment.

Nothing to complain about for sure, just bring a sweatshirt.

Esteban greeted us when we arrived and gave us some great recommendations on what to do during our short stay in Monterverde! The rooms were cozy, rustic, very clean, and had everything we needed. The breakfast across the street was amazing. The B&B is only a short walk down the street from a good restaurant! Only a 20 minute walk to the entrance of the Cloud Forest Reserve.

The host (Esteban) was very helpful and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. He also assisted booking tours.

Nothing we didn't like. If you're coming during wet season make sure you have boots and water proof ponchos.
