The Imperial Crown Hotel

I stay here often and keep returning, as I work local and its the staff that makes this hotel warm and welcoming. The new manager particularly has been very impressive. There is a plan to revamp the rooms as some appear a little tired, but progress is being made. The internet is now stable, as it used to drop out randomly for many months, so working from the hotel is now doable.

The property is in a prime location for Piece Hall around the corner, for gigs. The room was clean and comfortable.

While clean and comfortable the room was basic for the fee charged and I did not care for the £100 security charge upon check in, that was slow to refund after check out. I would stay here again however as the property is in a prime location.

Polite staff and helpful. The standard of the room was in keeping with the price paid. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the food offering.

The rubber bath mat was so worn it was almost torn in half - who on earth would put that back on the rail as acceptable?? Also the shower curtain was clearly a section of shower curtain and meant you had to huddle towards the shower to keep water in.. then again, when we used the shower, we can understand why you thought you could get away with it...the "shower" was a bit of drizzle and only just trickled over your body. Curtains in the room were tired and hooks missing and stains on the carpet to step over, but with price paid, no great expectation for any better.

Across the road from Halifax rail station Friendly staff Bacon and Egg sandwich on day 2 - spot on !
