Hotel Senator München

La posizione eccellente soprattutto durante Oktoberfest. La stanza era pulita, molto bello bagno e balcone. Colazione buona.

Rapporto qualità/prezzo un po alto, giustificabile solo per l’alta stagione.

The hotel is located quite close to the main train station and close enough to a tram and U station, making it usable for sightseeing. Very nice and helpful front desk personnel. More than decent breakfast. As a plus, there is a shopping mall available nearby, with a Lidl in it, and also an Aldi in the walking distance, for buying various things, especially mineral water / beer / juices, for hot summer nights. Moreover, our room had a balcony, and it was oriented towards the back of the hotel, making it quiter.

There was no AC available in the rooms - only ventilators. We chose Germany over Spain / France / Italy as summer destination, taking into account that it is cooler there. Wrong decision this time, as we experienced up to 38 degree temperatures in Munich during our staying, making sightseeing a heavier task than we wanted, unfortunately. So, we had to spend more time inside museums / shopping malls / restaurants / parks than planned, instead of walking out in the streets.

Overall this was a fine stay. A solid 6 out of 10. Would likely not book here again as the amenities did not make it worth the price. Location: Located right next to the Oktoberfest grounds (5 minute walk). Accessible to public transportation. About 30-45 minute walk from the central city, so using the trams was essential. Overall was great! Staff: Most everyone was friendly and accommodating. We were able to leave our bags before check-in and after check-out before our travel day. John was particularly helpful. Overall clean and safe. No extra amenities or frills available outside of a small bar and 2-3 chairs. The free breakfast buffet was fine- cold cuts, breads, eggs, and good coffee.

NO WIFI CONNECTION in the rooms. We barely got a signal in the main area but as mentioned above, it wasn't really a place to hang out in. The 'king' room was just 2 twin beds pushed together that often separated during the night. Additionally, they only had twin-size blankets available that were the size of large beach towels. It was not sufficient for 2 people. There was no A/C (that we felt). Thank goodness we were there on cooler days, but we still had to keep the windows open, and it was still quite hot and stuffy. Very small detail: there was only 1 physical key for the rooms. no key card entry. So it was very easy for 1 person to get locked in the room if the other person left.
