Sylvia Hotel Maumere

The highlight was the lovely big, clean pool and comfortable bed. Also Richard at reception was really helpful and cheerful, including organising a share taxi for our onward travel. We felt a bit sorry for the staff as there were very few guests in this large hotel, but the staff were all smiley and cheerful. There was a reasonable range of food at breakfast, Indonesian and fresh fruit and toast. But no pancakes or fried egg/omelettes. It’s buffet style and was a bit lukewarm. The location suited us because we were returning our scooters to Motor Adventure Bali motorbike rental down the road.

The hotel is looking tired, with peeling wallpaper and tatty decor. But the bedroom was clean and comfortable and the shower hot and powerful, so we were happy with the value for money.

Hygiene, mooie ruime kamer

Safe kapot en ontbijt alleen Indonesisch en niet bijgevuld

Die günstige Lage an der Ausfallstrasse. Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals.

Nichts auszusetzen.

Modern hotel with a pool

The hotel management insisted on taking a copy of my visa upon checkin. That is none of their business
