The Wine Lodges by an island apart

Great location and a stunning building with really comfy beds

We were in the top apartment and there were a lot of stairs, I'm in my 40s and was fine but my mother and her friend struggled a bit daily and I had to carry three cases up which was a challenge in the heat - they were able to access the balcony but it's quite steep a first step drop which probably worried me more than them. I would definitely book again for myself but i would NOT if I was taking my mother.

Beautiful property centrally located for enjoying the wine festival and exploring the old town of Funchal. Huge apartment with very comfortable beds. Big windows that opened for fresh air but Cold AC when it got too warm. Large dining room and table. Nice hot shower with good pressure. Staff was very responsive and helpful. Also really appreciated the bottles of wine!!!

I didn't find the instructions for the appliances until the last day and they weren't where the welcome kit said they would be. Consequently I had trouble figuring out the washing machine but finally got the hang of it. Wish there was a clothes dryer on site although I appreciated the drying rack.

Location, spacious, pristine clean, beautiful high ceilings, windows to the ground, easy access, bottle of wine was a nice touch !
