The gardener deserves a prize!! What a stay! Everything was exceptionally clean and in very good conditions. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathrooms were good and the tents were in fantastic condition as well! 10/10 recommendation for a place like Madeira, it was amazing!

Granny's farm is a cozy little getaway on the hills of Sao Vicente. The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful with cozy spots to sit, read or play a game. We were in a bungalow and that was very comfortable.

There's a little bar that looks amazing with cute lights and a sign that said "cold beer". However, unfortunately the bar was never open during the 5 days we stayed at Granny's farm. This was too bad because it looked like such a nice place to have a drink.

Struttura davvero bellissima, curata, pulita e con un panorama spettacolare. Abbiamo soggiornato in una tenda, grande, accogliente e pulitissima, con uno spazio esterno dedicato. Anche lo spazio in comune, i bagni e la cucina sono sempre stati ordinati e ben tenuti. Posizione strategica per visitare tutta la parte nord di Madeira, soprattutto la zona di Seixal. Unica piccola nota: sarebbe stato utile avere un forno nella cucina comune. Per il resto, assolutamente consigliata!

Grannys farm was very very beautiful both in location and the little bungalow we rented was also very pretty and the amenities are pretty decent. Its a great area if you enjoy hiking relatively difficult hikes but we would recommend bringing a car to get around if you're planning on staying here.

There were a few things that let the place down, number 1 being that it is extremely remote and all of the shops nearby were cash only, which isn't mentioned anywhere on the site but could really negatively impact on a lot of people who chose to stay here. There is also no air-conditioning or even a fan in the bungalow which is extremely uncomfortable in the hot nights. The shower was only hot for about 3 minutes meaning if you were the second person to shower it was ice cold. We also found that Francisco the owner wasn't the best communicator, we opted to leave 3 nights earlier due to us not being able to rent a car and struggling to get ubers due to the location. We messaged Francisco asking where he would like us to leave the key on our exit and he didn't respond to us until much much later that day meaning we just ended up leaving the key in one of the plant pots. We know this was an issue with another couple staying as they were promised a lift to an ATM to withdraw cash as they weren't able to buy food and he then let them down last minute meaning they were going round knocking on doors asking others to help them out. We tried to visit the bar a couple times whilst we were there to find that it was shut everytime we tried to go with no signs when it would be open. We would also recommend going to the shop one minute down the road as there is far more variety there than the shop a 15 minute hike uphill which is recommended by the owner. Also be prepared to share your house with lizards and house centipedes.
