Hotel Timila

The room is exceptionally lovely and very functional (outstanding bathroom/shower, huge balcony, fridge, desk, couch, strong internet, and incredibly comfortable bed). The highlight of my stay, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team were friendly, respectful, helpful, kind, and made me wish I could stay longer (huge shout-out to Amrita!). This is a gem of a place! Seriously, I couldn't be happier with my stay... it made my time in Nepal truly wonderful to have this home away from home.

Everything was better than perfect. Whenever I had a question or request, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Even the owls who live across the street from the balcony were amazing.

An Elevator would be great! The Kitchen shuts too early in the night.

I was travelling alone, and I felt very safe and well looked after at Timila. The night I arrived, my cab took a wrong turn and the receptionist came down the road to find us. The staff are warm and quick to help, including making me a quick cup of good coffee as soon as I woke up every morning. I also enjoyed sitting in the courtyard with the NY Times at breakfast. The room is expansive, and quiet.

Patan is quiet - so be prepared for that. On the first night, the streets were quiet and restaurants were closed, so I went to bed early with a book. However, by day two I realised that it is also very safe, and enjoyed exploring ancient durbar square late at night.
