Loved our stay here so much. We did the 4 hour Jeep tour which was great. The location was perfect with a great sunset viewing point within walking distance. Food was amazing. As we were staying 2 days the host invited us back to his house for tea and lunch in the middle of the day so we could be in air conditioning which was helpful in the middle of summer

Having stayed at many camps in Wadi Rum, each similar to the others, what sets Candles Camp apart are the guides and staff. You can feel their passion for this beautiful land and commitment to making sure you have fun seeing it. The camp is also one of the farthest from the village so it feels secluded from tourists and the stars seem extra bright.

Nice clean camp and comfortable tent Aussie who wants to go to Wadi Rum to happen this camp we have booked. One night, we did the jeep tour for four hours. Our guide, Raad, was very cool. Mahdi, the camp manager, is a respectable man. He also arranged a taxi for us from Wadi Rum to Aqaba. Thank you. I recommend this camp.

Owner, Mr Mahdi, super friendly and well organised, very easy to contact him also before our arrive.
We had a half day jeep trip on our first day, the Wadi Rum desert is amazing and it is the most magical place to be, we had the time to stop, enjoy the views and the Sunset on the desert is a highlight thing to do!!!
The campsite is super clean, the food is excellent and the hospitality super good!
We had music around the fire and admire the stars.
Mahdi is not only a super friendly person but you can also see his respect and love for the place he lives and we had the possibility to feel all of it through his eyes!!!
Not miss this place and definitely go for mahdi Camp for your journey to the Wadi Rum desert!!!

October 2022 - stayed one day and one night. Left 70 JD with the camp manager. 50JD of them - for the whole day desert trip from 10am till sunset, not sure if it really was meant to be that long or was a generocity of our guide, most likely the latter. They can offer a variety of jeep walking and camel tours, I believe starting from 20 JD to suit various hours. 10JD I spent for the dinner, was tasty. Lunch was very good, cooked by our guide in the desert and included in the full day trip. Our guide also took us to have some tea at the desert during the sunset. Dinner was followed by a complimentary camp fire and traditional music. There was one British style electric socket in the tent. Guide was good, staff friendly.
Note: It took 40 minutes to get from the camp to visitor's centre Transportation there and back was included into the tent price and arranged by the camp management.
There was no tall mountain to shelter the tents from the day heat which didn't bother me due to only being inside of the camp at night but might be critical for someone else. No hot water, no air conditioning, no phone or internet connection. I wasn't hoping for any of them when booking my stay - writing because it can be be useful to know for you who's reading. Apparently there are camps in the desert that have all the above with higher price I believe. Bring cash to pay, cards wouldn't work in those conditions - wasn't an issue for me, just not sure where else I can write this her. For your comfort, make sure if you are having a bus to catch - to make it clear with the management staff that you need to be at the bus stop good enough tume prior to departure. It took 40 minutes of driving in 2 cars to get to the bus stop, second cars driver stopped on the way to get air for tyres, I had to ask him to do that after my drop off. He was driving very fast after that. I was delivered there just before the bus left - bus arrived 5 min late. that got me very uncomfortable in the last 15 minutes of my norney in Wadi Rum. The camp manager seemed a bit arrogant about me being worried and raising my concerns about me being on time for the bus and sad that the bus is not going to leave without me that couldn't yet make me feel comfortable about the whole situation anyway.

The camp is simple, but nice exactly for the same reason. Very clean, good food, wonderful location, staff really welcoming. Toilets have even shower with hot water. Guests can sleep under the stars and look at a wonderful sunrise and sunset.
Every thing was good

Dont think twice, book now! From the jeep tour to the stay at the camp we was treated with great care and great hospitality. A shout out to our driver Riad who thoroughly went out of hia way to make our stay magical. The dinner served by Khaled (chef) was amazing and tea around the fire under the sky of Wadi Rum was surreal.
Thank you for the most amazing stay and experiance. We will back soon Inshallah.

+ As a woman travelling on my own, and the only guest for one night alone in the camp (in the middle of winter) I felt completely safe and respected. I loved this camp. Salem is an awesome guide and a safe driver. Yazinn is an amazing cook. Soliman was courteous, hospitable and informative. And Mahadi was gracious and entertaining. What a great time, in a completely beautiful place. I didn't want to leave.

My fiancée & I have been travelling in Jordan for one week last December. Great country, lots of things to see and very welcoming. After staying 2 nights in Wadi Musa and visiting the spectacular Petra, a Wonder of the modern world, we continued to the dessert Wadi Rum. Me, as a photographer, was looking for a camp with the lowest light pollution, the further in the desert the better. So we met with Mahdi in his house in Wadi Rum village...and straight away we embarked on an adventurous 4x4 ride in the orange dessert. Mohamed, our smiling young guide, took us to beautiful places in order to see and understand the desert. He prepared a nice lunch for us in the sands. I was surprised to see so many plants and animals. After the magical sunset we headed to the Candles Camp. With the coming darkness the sky became dotted by millions of stars...magical. That night wasn't that chilly and inside of the bedouin large tent we were invited to warm up by the fire, presented with fresh tea and dates. The dinner was just lovely and plenty. We had the chance to try a chicken prepared the bedouin way...cooked in the earth for many hours. Delicious! We listened to ancient arabic songs and even were invited to dance the Bedouin way. Evening full of emotions and discoveries. Our tent was nice, equipped with a big bed a lots of blankets...we were cold. In the sunny morning we were invited to have a hearthy breakfast...very nice and traditional. We recommend to every traveller, who want to experience the authentic bedouin hospitality to book with Candles Camp...owned by local family. Safe journeys, always! Shukran!

Very hospitable and friendly people! They make the whole experience of staying at the desert much more exciting. Thanks to Mahdi and especially Mohamed who was our guide. It's very basic accommodation but this was expected and even looked for so no complaints about that. Highly recommended!
