Manohara Borobudur Cultural Center

The draw card for this property is definitely its location, within grounds of temple and access in and out during day is fabulous. You get a ticket for structure climb each day of stay, you can pay extra for private tour (we did not, group was fine), extra for sunset/sunrise climb. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, but great warungs via gojek, also great coffee with gojek. Room had a lot of mozzies if door open at all, we went and bought plug in mozzie thing form supermarket so we could have door open. Not much touristy shops around, very local area outside of the temple vicinity. Biggest thing we really missed was a pool to cool off in, so much so we cut stay short and found villa elsewhere that did have a pool. Went to dinner at Stupa at Plantaran, which was slightly better than this hotels food. Staff in restaurant super friendly.

A pool it was so hot and dry. I think it could help temple staff if there was a wrist band that identified guests as guests of hotel, got chased a few times going in and out of exit gates and had to show room key to prove we were allowed in and out (language was a bit harder here than say Bali)

Breakfast is good but can be more varieties. Location is good to visit Borobudur temple . Staff is friendly . Greenish vibes & feel relax & fresh.

Air conditioner is not cold enough. The complimentary climb up ticket should include sunset package instead of paying extra. The complementary climb up ticket should allow for 2nd entry if sunset package is for first entry as during sunset package do not have time to view the temple in details while enjoying sunrise view & listening to the tour guide explaining the history of the temple . We stayed for 2 nights & have 2nd complementary climb up entry . Unfortunately, the temple was having maintenance & only open until level 5 by last minutes notice. Maintenance notice should be notified earlier before visitors purchase ticket .

This was a great experience, staying onsite at this historic location. and highly recommended The bungalow with views of Candi Borobudur was fabulous and includes access to the temple site. The staff were super helpful and organised! Breakfast was busy!!

Really should install and espresso machine & barista for breakfast and guests.

The hotel is within the borobudur park itself. The proximity to the attraction is the biggest advantage. The ox tail soup was good. There's a borobudur view from the room.

The rooms on booking.com are on the other side of the park, at the top of a hill, Bukit dagi. It takes roughly 5-10 min for a one-way shuttle ride. Therefore, it's not very convenient. The worst part is that it is super difficult to take Grab or Gojek from the hotel, because it is located within the park and Grab or Gojek do not allow picking up inside the park. It took me more than half an hour to get a car after 3 cancellations. You need to pin the location just outside the security guard post then text the driver or ask the front desk girl to help. Check-in process was also super slow. We were waiting there from 1pm. The receptionist only started the check-in at 1.58pm, and took roughly 15 min. We had to wait for another couple to finish their check in and got to the same shuttle car to go to the room. Don't understand why she couldn't finish the paper work before 2pm and send all of us to the room at 2pm sharp.
