NEW GENERATION HOSTEL Florence

During my stay at this hostel, my first impression was that I had arrived at a very simple and inexpensive place. However, once I entered inside, I was really surprised to see how large the courtyard was and that there was even a museum on the right side of the hostel. This was something I definitely did not expect. To reach the rooms, you have to walk through different areas of the building. It almost feels like you are walking through a maze, but at the same time, you realize that you have entered a very large and unique place. I never expected the hostel to give me such an interesting impression. The room has a locker system, and each locker comes with a large key. You can easily lock and unlock your locker whenever you want. Some hostels cannot even provide proper lockers or secure storage, so this was a nice advantage. I stayed in the upper bunk bed. There was no metal ladder; instead, there was a wooden structure on the side, and I climbed up using wooden steps to reach my bed. The room itself was not small at all — it was quite spacious. Even though it was a six-person room, we were able to stay there very comfortably. There is a kitchen downstairs with everything you might need: a microwave, pans, pots, glasses, dishes, and a place to wash your dishes. The hostel also has a beautiful garden area where you can sit outside and eat your meals. The kitchen is large and comfortable, so you can easily prepare and enjoy your food there. Overall, the hostel surprised me with its size, atmosphere, and facilities. It felt much bigger and more interesting than I expected from the outside.

Hostel is very close to the city center, has a nice garden and comfortable beds. Very appreciated the reception help in the day.

I was traveling with my bike and I could put it in the staff room with extra fee (10euros). I had no problem during the check-in and during the day when I was in the staff room where I encountered many people who work. I had to check-out very early and that is when I had a very exceptional problem with a receptionist who entered where my bike is and even though I had the keys, the person was not very nice about I was in the room. During the 5 minutes I needed to get my bike ready for a long ride, I was watched and disturbed to be there. I hope the hostel reads this comment because I couldn't find their e-mail address. What is the point to hand someone the keys if we would be traited like a thief and/or if we should ask every time that we would be in that room (as the receptionist said to me) ?

Lack of cutlery

Location easy access, nice open areas inside.

Too hot, no fan/ac. Too many mosquitoes couldn't sleep all night because of that. I had to leave in middle of the night.
