Château du Bû

I rarely write reviews—I usually only bother if a place is either exceptionally good or terrible enough that people need a warning. This place easily falls into the first category. ​The property itself is stunning, but what truly makes it extraordinary is the host, Andy. You can immediately feel how much love and care he has poured into this land and this house. That passion and warmth genuinely extend to his guests, creating a feeling that is hard to put into words but impossible to miss. That’s what makes staying here so special. ​If you’re visiting this area, do yourself a favor and stay here. You will not regret it.

Nothing

All the breakfast food was great as well as the eggs they made to order. The chateau has been beautifully restored. It is on 140 acres in a wonderful setting. You don’t see any other structures. Yet if is less than 30 minutes to Bayeux, a little longer to the Normandy beaches and close to Caen. All the driving can be done on fast, lovely backroads.

It was not a problem for us (a 75 year old and an 82 year old) but there is no elevator. The staff was happy to carry our bags to and from our room.

Beautiful accommodations in a historic chateau located in bucolic Normandy countryside. Perfect place to use as a base for visiting Normandy D-Day sites. Highly recommended!!
