I particular went up to two adjacent family villas to guarantee a view of the Arenal Volcano - we were only my husband and I staying for 5 nights so obviously keen to ensure that we got the view!. However didn't get any view so felt the additional costs was wasted and we were disappointed. Please note that the staff gave us one night free and also offered one night at a villa with view. This was very considered however still not what I had initially booked and paid for.

This resort is lovely and the service is top notch. The room is beautiful, clean, and the deck with private hot spring pool is wonderful. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and the morning yoga. The breakfast buffet and a la carte menu is delicious and convenient. We liked being able to check out the other pools, gym, and restaurants at Gardens and Springs resorts. The free laundry services and mini bar items are a nice touch as well. Oh, and the day beds are truly large enough for tall teenagers! The bathroom lacks privacy for families without doors and a window between indoor and outdoor showers, but it wasn't a big deal just taking turns.
These are minor complaints, but the food is pricey and the grounds are difficult to walk due to VERY steep hills. I live in San Francisco--these are major hills. Relying on the golf carts is ok, but there are times they don't come and you need to follow-up. It is also hard to get your bearings if you want to walk. I recommend taking a picture of the map and using the room numbers to navigate. There are some stairs and short cuts that made getting to the restaurant (Ayla) easy, but we didn't figure it out for a day or 2!

Beautiful property with very well appointed bedrooms (safari style luxury tents). The views of the vulcano are spectacular
Only the Nayara tented camp restaurant is worthwhile . The other restaurants in the sister properties are not good enough. The gym needs improvement.

We loved the facilities, amenities and very friendly staff. The property has so much to offer, we stayed 4 days, 5 nights and never ran out of things to do/ new places to eat and explore on property.
Ahead of time they could let us know about complimentary laundry and binocular rentals. Great amenities but not well advertised.
