Xanh Cat Ba Hotel

We had a delightful stay at Cat Ba Xanh Spring Garden Hotel! Everything was handled with great care and professionalism. The check-in was seamless, and the receptionist gave us an extensive orientation of the island with map highlights and practical travel tips. Our room was spacious, spotless, and offered a lovely view of the sea that was beautiful to wake up to each morning. The room amenities were great: cold AC, comfortable beds, clean linens, and a hot shower with reliable pressure. We loved that the hotel offers fresh on-site dining; one evening we ordered seafood dishes and local vegetables, and they kindly served it to our room so we could dine comfortably on our balcony. Linda and the front desk staff are wonderful ambassadors for Vietnamese hospitality. They booked an amazing boat tour through Lan Ha Bay for us, arranged fast laundry service with same-day return, and organized our onward bus to Hanoi with direct hotel pickup. The breakfast included in the room rate was fresh and tasty, especially the pancakes and coffee. Tremendous value!

We stayed at Cat Ba Xanh Spring Garden Hotel for four nights and could not have been happier. In a busy tourist hub like Cat Ba where many hotels feel impersonal, this property stands out with heartfelt service. Emma and Linda at reception are absolute gems—always smiling, fluent in English, and ready to assist with any request. The room was bright, tidy, and generously sized. The beds were large and plush, the air conditioning was quiet and cold, and the bathroom was pristine. We particularly loved hanging out on the rooftop garden in the evenings; enjoying a beer under the stars with views of the mountain silhouettes was so relaxing. The hotel can arrange literally everything you need at better prices than agencies in town: scooter rentals, bus tickets to Hanoi and Ninh Binh, and boat cruises through Lan Ha Bay. The day cruise they booked for us was breathtaking, taking us through floating fishing villages and lagoons for kayaking. Breakfast was delicious with warm pancakes and eggs. We left feeling like valued friends!"

Cat Ba Xanh Hotel provided us with the most pleasant and stress-free stay of our trip. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood slightly elevated above town. This positioning is ideal because it keeps you away from noisy bus traffic and harbor construction, while still allowing an easy 10-minute stroll to the central square and promenade. Our room was clean and well equipped, featuring two double beds with comfortable mattresses, a mini-fridge, tea-making facilities, and a modern bathroom. The view from our window overlooking the green hills was gorgeous. The staff really makes this place special. Everyone was courteous and eager to help Linda and Emma helped us organize our daily excursions, gave us great advice on where to find authentic local food, and arranged a reliable scooter for us to visit the national park. The breakfast buffet was great value for money—eggs made to order, pancakes, fresh watermelon, and excellent coffee. The rooftop garden is also a wonderful spot to chill out with drinks. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived at Cat Ba Xanh Spring Garden Hotel, we were blown away by the friendliness of the team. The lobby receptionist Emma greeted us with a welcoming smile and immediately made us feel at home. Our room was spotless, modern, and very spacious, featuring comfortable beds and a sparkling clean bathroom. Linda, the manager, is a lifesaver! We made a mistake with the name on our booking, but she sorted it out in minutes with zero stress. She also helped us get our laundry done, and all our clothes were washed, dried, and neatly folded in less than six hours. Furthermore, she booked us on an exceptional boat trip through Lan Ha Bay that turned out to be the highlight of our entire Vietnam holiday. The rooftop bar area offers lovely open-air views of the limo stone karsts, making it an ideal place to relax after exploring. The daily breakfast buffet was tasty and satisfying, offering toast, fried rice, fresh fruit, and made-to-order eggs. Being a short walk away from the town center meant we enjoyed total silence at night without the noise of karaoke bars. The hot water cylinder in the shower provides about 15 minutes of continuous hot water, which is plenty for one person, but if you have multiple people showering back-to-back, you need to wait a few minutes between showers.
