Snow or water resistent shoes required for entry and exit due to snow moistening running shoes. Cool but host promptly provided room heaters when requeated as thermostat controls upstairs, it was a little rough at check in as email c instructions was not obtained nor text yo vrbo/host answered in the 2 hours prior to arrival on site and phone reception throught T-mobile was hit amd miss on site. Family member was bummed the indoor fire place does not work just for looks. Honestly didnt have time to use it anyway as well truely enjoyed the activities available in the towns near by like Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Wind Caves, Colorado Brewery, Etc...

Goldilocks says JUST RIGHT
Comfy beds, great location, and deer visitors-welcome to Black Forest! Plenty of room, cute kitchenette, nice hot shower. Very convenient for USAFA graduation and sight seeing. Just anough wilderness for us city slickers. All this cubby needs is bigger coffee pot, quieter commode and better lighting to get 5 stars.

Not Bad-Needs a Couple of Adjustments!
Beautiful area in the Black Forest. The apt was very nicely furnished and the kitchenette was also very nicely furnished. A couple of great restaurants just down the road. The owners are upstairs over the apt so it got a bit noisy when they were home and before they went to bed. Also the climate controls are located upstairs so you have to live with whatever they set the temps at. For us, it got to warm at night. Also the furnace unit is down in the apt and when it kicked in, it was quite noisy. The only TV is in one of the bedrooms which didn't really work when we all wanted to watch TV. Also the wood burning stove has apparently been out of order for some time but we didn't know that until we arrived with supplies to have a fire while we were there. But we would stay there again with some adjustments.

We loved the area in the Black Forest where this apartment was located. It was very nicely furnished with a well stock kitchenette. It was a bit noisy from time to time with the owners upstairs overhead. Also the climate controls are upstairs so we could not adjust the heat. It got too hot for us most nights and the furnace unit is located in the apt so when it kicked on it was noisy. There is a wood burning stove in the apt and we came ready to use it during the day but found out only after we got there that is was out of order. Also the only TV in the apt is in one of the bedrooms which wasn't very good when we all wanted to watch TV together.

This walkout basement apartment was so well set up and decorated that we felt like we had our own house in the country. Deer visited through the wooded property daily, and the fall color was gorgeous. The apartment is extremely comfy and the drive to town was only about 15 minutes. We will be staying here again with our Air Force Academy cadet.
