City Palace Hotel

Hotel is right on the lake, we had a lake view room with a small balcony. Photo is the view from second floor room. The room was big enough, if a rather odd shape, and the bathrooom was a good size. Both were clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a kettle/ mugs in the room but the bar staff were great and gave me a jug of hot water and cups to make tea! The bar/ restaurant is very pleasant with great ambient music and a good selection of drinks- we didn't eat there but the menu looked good. Breakfast had most things you would want- the juice was orange squash but that seems typical in hotels now. Couldn't see any tea bags- bring your own! Very good value for money, would stay here again if we come back to Ohrid.

I did ask for a non-smoking room but it did smell a bit of cigarettes and I noticed ashtrays in the room and on the balcony. No kettle The staff at check in and check out were not especially friendly but maybe it's a language barrier.

Excellent location, very close to the lake and within easy walking distance of the city centre. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and reserved parking spaces right next to the hotel. Everything was great during our stay.
