Wish water was closer.

Everything worked as should. Had all the characteristics of home. Great location and cozy house. Was exactly what I’d hoped it would be.

The place was perfect for our Nature Retreat getaway. We enjoyed hiking (with the dogs) at the Chickasaw Recreation Area during the days and then spent the afternoons & evenings relaxing at the cabin. We look forward to future trips.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet, waterfront place where we could relax, read a good book, and do a little fishing. Unfortunately, the listing photo was misleading. The cabin is not waterfront, and the water is not a two-minute walk as described, which was disappointing. That said, the cabin itself was comfortable. The bed, pillows, and couch were all cozy, and we slept well. However, there were some maintenance and cleanliness issues that should be addressed. We found mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and under the sink, the front panel of the dishwasher was missing, making it unclear how to use it, and the washer and dryer were in an awkward location, which made loading them challenging. We also had trouble reaching the host because the contact information was incorrect, and we had to go through customer service to make contact.Despite these issues, we made the best of our stay and still enjoyed the area. We visited several surrounding lakes, Turner Falls, and tried local dining — all of which were great. We especially recommend Fat Bully’s for fantastic burgers, calf fries and fried Jalapeños. Great atmosphere and friendly service With some updates, better accuracy in the listing, and improved cleanliness, this place could be much better. The location itself has potential, and the surrounding area is definitely worth visiting.
