Entire house on a remote sheep farm , tended for 45 years
Benvenuti in una fattoria tranquilla tra i monti Appalachi. Abbiamo una fattoria di montagna di 100 acri con due insenature e viste lunghe miglia in tutte le direzioni. Gli unici suoni sono picchi di Pileated, agnelli che invocano le loro madri e un aereo occasionale sopra la testa. Le pecore adorano l'attenzione e sono felici di fingere di posare per le foto.
La casa è una struttura in legno a tre piani con tre camere da letto con calore solare e legno che può ospitare dieci adulti o 18 in totale con bambini su materassi sul pavimento.
La cucina ha un complemento completo di tutte le risorse di cottura necessarie, una stufa a gas e un forno, due frigoriferi e un congelatore, acqua di sorgente di altissima qualità, quindi non c'è bisogno di acqua in bottiglia.
La contea di Poccahontas, una gemma geniale in queste montagne, ha molte risorse locali, il fiume Greenbrier e il suo Trail, la Cranberry Wilderness Area, per escursioni, pesca e sci di fondo, Snowshoe Ski Resort, lo sci migliore nel sud-est del New England e il fiume Gauley per il rafting in acque bianche in autunno, anche il migliore rafting a est del Mississippi.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was a unique property with so much history in it. The views were incredible! The drive can be a little daunting for those of us not used to it but we made it fine in a couple of mid size suvs.

this place was out in the middle of nowhere but was amazing. It was so quiet you could hear your ears ringing. the sky was clear and beautiful we saw shooting stars, the milky way and just beautiful night sky. if your in to books this is a place to explore. the owner had to have thousands of books and they were all well organized. some of the books were published in the early 1900’s. the host was very friendly and I am assuming that he put a lot of love into building this home. The only drawbacks I had was that the beds were not very comfortable and the living room furniture is very worn. this place is really out by itself but was so peaceful and actually forced our family to communicate and spend quality time together. I would definitely recommend.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The drive through back roads was well worth it. The host is very kind. We are already talking about our next family trip there!

I think I had higher expectations from staying at other very nice VRBO places. It was, however, shown as a sheep farm in the hills of West Virginia and that's what it was. A few things the owner should have noted to us was that the road to the farm was long, rural and rough. You do need a 4 wheel drive. We should have been told that a cat lived in the house with us (Allergies). The kitchen did not have a coffee maker, microwave or a toaster and the flatware, plates and utensils were not adequate at all. Owner should remove all the knick-nacks around as we were worried about breaking them. One bathroom did not have a shower. Internet was not the best and we were asked not to watch our usage. No shoes allowed in the house either. The view from the house was spectacular and it was very quiet and peacefull. Owner was kind and helpful.
