His property was beautiful when I read it cleanliness only three stars it wasn’t for the inside inside was spotless the rear yard was a little messy no big deal we weren’t home much but I’m definitely coming back next year and hopefully I can get the same property

This rental is pretty homey and welcoming. The owner experienced a bit of a problem with the unit that required a repair and we had to wait two nights to stay. The owner felt terrible and made us whole, I feel like integrity during a problem speaks volumes and I would definitely rent again if I’m the area. Positives: the sheets are sooo soft, air works very well (kept at an average of 73 and we were cold sometimes), well stocked kitchen, nice back patio, large capacity washer and dryer, and smart TV’s. Negative: one bedroom is a pass through to the master. All in all a good property.

When we got to the property after 4pm, the property had not been cleaned at all from previous stay. We texted the owner, who was prompt and contacted their cleaning agency. There was a mix up and the property had not been scheduled to be cleaned. The cleaning crew arrived within an hour and set to work. During this time we took a walk and sat in the backyard. Not ideal for those of us who had spent 14 hours traveling and had not gotten much sleep. After cleaning crew left, the place was very clean. We hadn't realized though that you had to go through one bedroom to get to the other one, which was kind of funky. There was at least an outside entrance to the back bedroom, which helped. The home is small and with 5 of us in there, it could get crowded at times. The location was wonderful. Really close to everything and since we rented a boat for a couple of days, it was ideal since it had a dock. Would love to stay in Key Colony Beach again, but would probably not stay here.

The location was within walking distance to several restaurants and the cabana club. My early morning walks in the neighborhood were comfortable as there are biking and walking lanes. We fished from the dock, and manatees were frequent visitors in the canal. One day they hung out right by our dock for close to half an hour! We had a great time at this unit and are already trying to plan a return trip next year.

Showed up to this OLD house," which is actually a duplex. Broken bait freezer in the yard and a BUNCH of grills and construction materials crammed into the carport. Looked like a junk yard all week. Exterior doors missing seals. Roaches in the house within hours of us showing up. (See other reviews on here if you don't believe me.) Owner said bugs are a problem in Florida. I was born, raised, and still live in Florida and I don't have bugs in my house. Even worse, you CANNOT LOCK THE EXTERIOR DOORS. Owner said "oh well, there's no crime in Key Colony Beach (KCB)." DO NOT bring kids; they could open doors and drown. Owner also lied to my husband and said I didn't want the locks fixed (what?). Owner is bizarre and careless. A liar. Unfortunately, we got in late the first night and had to stay there, but couldnt sleep, so we found somewhere else to go at 2 am. However, we had to leave the boat at the property because we couldn't find somewhere last minute to keep it for the week. Owner said we could "work something out" but then decided not to refund us a dime for having to find somewhere safe to stay. Again, a liar. Not to mention, the furniture is in bad shape, stained. All the blinds are broken. The neighbors can see inside and they're only about 4 feet away. I sent the owner pics; no response. How did anyone give this place 4 or 5 stars? FYI - We go to the Keys every year and always stay somewhere beautiful. This year, we tried Key Colony Beach (KCB), where this dump is. BUT, there are beautiful homes with water views in Marathon, literally five mins away for the SAME price. We have family from Key West and we are obsessed with the Keys. So you can see why we are so disappointed. For those who gave this place 4 or 5 stars, try another VRBO in Marathon (get out of KCB) and you'll see what you're missing. Get a VRBO that is professionally managed (no property manager here). I saved the best for last: if you're still reading and wondering whether you should book this property, know that the owner told us AFTER we "checked out" that he had his friends secretly watch us while we were on the property to load and unload the boat throughout the week. That is creepy and unsettling. Long story short, this place is overpriced, uncomfortable, and unsafe. Stay away from this 7th Street ghetto. Oh, and ask the owner whether the A/C cools the bedrooms. He admitted to us after we "checked out," that the bedrooms are hot (check other reviews on here). Gross.

Always love staying here! We’ve booked 2 years now and plan to continue each year. Jack and Denise are always available for questions when we contact them. Always clean and love the cabana club amenity.

The property had everything we needed. There were only a few tv channels to choose from but we didn't need them.

Probably needs to be serviced by a pest control company. The other thing needed is an upgrade on the cable channels. Yes I was on vacation and wasn't in the house much but almost every channel I turned to said notavailable. I would've like to watch t.v. as I am going to bed.

The house is in a good location, close to restaurants and the Cabana Club. We enjoyed fishing in the canal, but unfortunately the fish we caught were too small to keep. As mentioned in a previous review, the living room is noticeably colder than the master bedroom. Just a heads up - the cable only has over-the-air channels. There are no standard cable channels, such as ESPN, CNN, Food Network, etc

Great place to stay. We could walk to the private beach and pool or stroll around the neighborhood. There is so much to do close by. The place was big enough for 5 of us to stay. Having a washer and dryer was very handy. The only negative was a very squeaky door to the back bedroom and it would have been nice if beach towels were provided. We just ended up buying $5 beach towels in Key West so it wasn’t a big deal. We would definitely stay here again.

Key colony beach is the perfect place to stay in the keys. The kids loved fishing off the dock and caught so many fish! We enjoyed the cabana club pool and beach. It's a nice quiet community in a location that made it easy to visit many locations throughout the keys.

Great experience in spite of Hurricane Laura passing by. Owner was very communicative and immediately addressed any questions or concerns. He was also a great resource for things to do in the area.

We enjoyed our stay. Clean residence with perfect location for brining a boat and fishing. Only issue we had is the a/c doesn’t work the best throughout the house. The living room would get ice cold but the master bedroom would be at least 10 degrees hotter.

Everything was great! Perfect location, amenities and accurate to the description. The access to private docking was great as we are avid fishers and brought our own boat. Owners were informative and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back! Sad to leave!

We were the first to rent after the virus and Keys opened back up so we had a few issues but Jack worked closely with us and we resolved all of them. Place was very clean and comfortable. There was lawn debri but as I stated that was due to Keys being closed. We enjoyed our stay and would go back
