the location was well hidden , but very peaceful. situated off a back lane on the outskirts of Canterbury , with very easy access to nearby Dunkirk and Boughton-under-Blean where there was a lovely restaurant called the Dairy . off road parking next to where we were staying , it was a well equipped converted barn , with a spiral stairs to 2 single beds and a second bathroom. very easy access to the A2, giving the ability to explore the north Kent coast line

lack of sign posting the actual location , however once found not forgotten. sadly the lane is used as a "rat run" so beware driving this lane , access best from the A2 north direction

Sarah and James were lovely and welcoming. The accommodation was great, a lovely. clean, comfortable little cottage in a beautifully perfect location. We had everything that we needed including lots of indoor and outdoor entertainment. The internet connection was excellent. We look forward to another stay.

The location was lovely, surrounded by open countryside.

On arrival we were not greeted by our host and were disturbed and concerned for a person making distressing noises coming from the adjoining cottage. Our host eventually knocked on the door, we voiced our concerns to which our host told us it was a family member, who lives next door. To show respect for their guests at Orchard Cottage, whatever the situation was, this should have been mindfully resolved however, the noise continued periodically which had a negative impact on our stay. Please be aware the walls are thin and noise carries between the two cottages. The twin beds were not made up into a double bed, as requested at the time of booking and despite a reminder also sent a few days before our arrival. Some of the rods on the staircase were misplaced so extra care was needed going up and down them, this is clearly an ongoing problem and should be addressed. It was not the relaxing few days we were hoping for which is a pity as the location is lovely.
