We enjoyed our time at Archers- the path to Sudeley Castle is right outside front door and an easy walk with free admission. The town of Winchcombe is absolutely picturesque! The walk to food and grocery stores is easily accessible without a car and we ate many meals from the well appointed kitchen at Archers. The back garden is very peaceful with a large table to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with the cooing of the wood pigeons in the background. There are several walking paths around the town and are a nice way to start or end your day. It might be nice to add some fans to the property as the upstairs where the bedrooms are can get pretty warm on warm days but that doesn’t happen that often, we were just there during extreme temps.

We booked Archers cottage for 3 nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our family. There were 8 of us comprising of myself and husband, daughter and son-in-law and the 2 Children, son and daughter-in-law and the space in the cottage was perfect for that amount of people without being on top of each other. The bedrooms worked out great meaning that 2 couples had the bedrooms with the en-suites and my daughter and her family had the 2 bedrooms which interconnected and had a bathroom in the middle which both bedrooms could access so it let them have their own family suite which was at the opposite end of the upstairs to the other bedrooms so perfect. The lounge was large with 2 big sofas and 2 chairs, big coffee table and a good size tv on the wall, a lovely space to chill out in the evenings. Dinning area with a big table to seat everyone for breakfast which led on to a good size well equipped kitchen. Beautiful garden which the children enjoyed, plenty of room for them to run around and be safe. Patio area with large iron table and chairs which we used a lot as the weather was good. There is a large BBQ but we didn’t use this. We had a great time and we all agreed that we would love to return in the future for another family weekend. The only thing I would suggest is a bigger fridge would be good as we struggled for room with there being 8 of us. Then again maybe the bottles of champagne and Prosecco took up too much room .

The house was great. The layout downstairs and upstairs suited our multi generational family perfectly. The new path to Sudeley was very walkable.

Archers was a perfect place for our family group of 8 to holiday in the picturesque village of Winchcombe. The spacious kitchen, dining room and lounge room were all decorated beautifully and fitted out with all we needed to be comfortable . The garden was wonderful for the children as they ran around playing with their new Sudeley castle swords and watching the brook flowing past. The pretty bedrooms all had ensuites attached. We loved walking up to the castle with free entry and the children spent many happy hours at the adventure playground there. The steam train nearby was also enjoyed.
