This was our first family vacation using VRBO and it will not be the last. The photos of Rocky Woods Cabin are fantastic but the experience of being in the space and on the property was even better than the photos. The owners have thought about everything you will need. The kitchen is well accommodated. There is plenty of firewood for the outdoor firepit. The binder of info answered any questions we may have had, including nearby restaurants, best grocery store, etc... This was the perfect place to have a great Maine vacation.

We absolutely loved our stay!! Communication was excellent with the Alice and Kyle! The cabin was the most well stocked place we have ever stayed. Our kids loved the outdoor space! A perfect place to relax and unwind! We would love to come back again one day!

I can’t enough wonderful things about Rockywoods Cabin. It was clean, had everything we needed and thoughtfully designed. Our family of 5 stayed for four nights here and it became our haven from the hustle and bustle of Acadia National park. We enjoyed hiking around the grounds and also enjoyed a bon fire with the s’mores ingredients they left for us! Again, I can’t say enough good things about this stay - we hope we can return one day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rocky Woods cabin. The trails on the property were fun to explore and well marked. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you need for your stay. The hosts are wonderful; great communicators who have thought of everything. It was honestly the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing Maine vacation!!!

If you have ever dreamed of spending time in a Maine cabin this rental is for you. The cabin looks like it belongs on a bottle of maple syrup! It was so quiet and peaceful and was a great place to relax and enjoy the view from the back porch of deer and singing birds. The owners obviously have taken great care in setting this cabin up for guests as they have made sure many details have been addressed. The wifi is fast and I was able to zoom and work easily. We enjoyed the large screen TV over the much appreciated gas fireplace every day. The Mr. Coffee type coffee maker had some coffee and filters. They even left a welcome basket of chips and treats. We stopped at the Hannaford supermarket in Ellsworth before heading to the cabin we cooked most of our meals. Nice pots and pans to cook on the large gas stove. Even the dishes had a Maine woods theme. The dishwasher was a nice Bosch and some dish detergent was supplied. Good washing machine/dryer. It was rainy several days we were there and my husband and I relaxed in front of the warm fireplace. There is only one bathroom but it was not a problem for just the two of us. The comfortable king bed was upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. There is a small futon type bed downstairs for one person. The owners were very responsive to questions. They did request that any cooking of seafood be done outside on the grill or burner so avoid having the seafood smell get into the wood walls. There is also a firepit but we didn't use it.

The cabin was perfectly appointed with many thoughtful touches. Private and lovely location convenient to Acadia but away from crowds!

Our second stay at Rocky Woods Cabin was just as great as the first. Alice has a wonderful property - spacious and clean, and it felt like we were home again walking in the door after two years. Communications were excellent as always, and the deer and woodchucks came to visit every night despite the rain. The gift basket was also very appreciated. Thank you for a great stay!

This cabin is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle! The decor is cozy, location is private, trails on the property are easy for beginners. No complaints whatsoever! The hostess, Alice, was a great communicator. We took all her suggestions including grabbing fresh lobster (right off the boat!) and cooking it outside on the fire. Chef’s kiss!

The Rocky Woods Cabin is a great escape! It's the perfect place to reconnect with nature while enjoying a very comfortable and beautifully decorated home. No light pollution meant an amazing display of constellations while we were outdoors enjoying the firepit. We were sad to leave and would certainly come back to this magic place!

Everything was as described and perfect. I have nothing remotely negative to say. It was amazing! The communication with the hosts was above and beyond. About 20 mins away from the property, me and my girlfriend were unfortunately in a minor car accident and the hosts were responsive immediately and started helping us immediately. Honestly, can't say enough good things. They helped turn a rocky start into a very nice experience and it was so appreciated.

The cabin is gorgeous, tastefully decorated and very cozy. The hosts were so thoughtful! We got in the night before Valentines - they left us a box of chocolates, a bottle of champagne and all the fixings for s’mores (which we enjoyed by the fire pit). We felt so welcome it was like we were staying at a friends place, only better cause we had it all to ourselves…

My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful property in ME. Leading up to our visit, our hosts offered clear directions to the property and comprehensive check-in instructions. We enjoyed the peaceful privacy of the nestled cabin but were still able to access the broader Acadia area with an hour's ride. The cabin itself was pristine, comfortable, and fully equipped to meet our every want. We especially appreciated the well-supplied kitchen and laundry room. Thank you, Kyle and Alice! We certainly hope to return for our future anniversaries.

One of the best VRBOs I’ve stayed at to date. The property was just like the pictures. The hosts were terrific in checking in with me both at check in and check out. A welcome basket and the lights were on when I got there. A very quiet property- no road or neighbor noise. My goal was to have a restorative respite few days and this was perfect. Spent my days hiking and night enjoying a glass of wine by the fire. Perfect few days away!

We had such a great stay! So relaxing! The pictures don’t do this property justice! Our girls loved walking the trails around the property and we enjoyed our nights by the fire pit. We spent a day a Acadia National Park. The property was very clean and cozy! We can’t wait to go back!

Words cannot describe how amazing our stay at Rocky Woods Cabin was. Our family of 4 found everything perfect, enjoying walks in the woods to watching porcupines feed near daily on the lawn. Over the 8+ years we've traveled to Maine, this cabin was by far one of the best. We'll be coming back to the cabin in the future for sure!

What a perfect place! You can see the effort put into restoring the cabin and keeping the rustic magic from its past. I think we saw new wildlife meandering through the clearing below the fire pit every day. The surrounding area was awesome, we decided to stay away from the crowds and explore the peninsula and the small towns north up the coast all the way to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. Thank you for the great experience and we will be visiting again soon!

The cabin was lovely functional and the main living area was spacious. However my favorite part was the front porch each early morning we had coffee waiting to see if the deer would stroll by or the hummingbird buzz through, so quiet and peaceful. The location was great we had fun visiting the smaller fishing communities near by and then taking day trips to either Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park. Inside the cabin a huge stove adequate refrigerator space and lots of ice. The beds were super comfortable the main living space had big sink in comfortable sofa and chair with a large tv and if you desired a lit fireplace. The only recommendation I would make is a few brighter light bulbs for evening reading. Everything was fantastic with the guess in mind, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen, lots of books and games to occupy the group and overall super clean. A perfect place to get away and enjoy nature yet close enough to visit iconic tourist spots.

Our stay at Rocky Woods was the best, by far, of the many VRBO stays that my family has experienced. Privately nestled in the woods in a beautiful coastal town, this property is not only beautiful, but immaculately kept. The hosts have thought of everything that your family could potentially need and have made the cabin so inviting and appealing, that you don't even need or want (!) to leave. It is a book lover's delight as there are books placed throughout the cabin and I spent all of my mornings reading quietly on the beautiful porch. The land is spectacular and we saw porcupines and deer throughout our stay. I highly recommend Rocky Woods for couples, families, and groups of friends. We'll be going back for certain!

We absolutely loved our stay at Rocky Woods Cabin!! It was our first trip to Maine and it was the perfectly quiet getaway we needed! About 20 mins from Schoodic side of Acadia and just over an hour from Bar Harbor. The owners had wonderful communication throughout checkin/out and provided pretty much everything we needed except for groceries. Kitchen was stocked with all of your basic needs. Beds were very comfy! The perfect combination of modern updates and rustic charm that you want from a cabin. Super clean, too, and beautifully decorated. We were so impressed and had the best vacation!!

This property is the perfect getaway. Gorgeous inside and out. The owner is VERY detail orientated and her hospitality is much appreciated. My family and I explored many different areas as far as Bass Harbor. The drive to areas that were about 30 or more minutes away were very pleasant with lovely back road country driving conditions. Beautiful!!! Check out the antique stores if that is your thing, there are some awesome ones there. Last but not least, the people of Maine were amazing, we took pleasure in visiting their places of business in the little nooks and crannies of that fine state.

Beautiful place and the water is so close. The local towns are so quaint and the best places to get lobster if you wish is the off beat places and not the big name restaurants.

We stayed at Rocky Woods cabin for a week in mid-June, when their lush lupines were in full bloom, and we had a great time! The listing is very accurate, and the stellar reviews are well-deserved. The hosts stocked the house with everything we needed, thoughtful details that helped us relax and unwind. The land is gorgeous, no matter the weather, and it’s just a short drive from Acadia’s Schoodic point (our very favorite part of the park). The house was impeccably clean and everything was comfortable. Check-in was a breeze. Such a fun week! We’re so glad we chose this as the home base for our adventures. It’s about 40 minutes from the big grocery stores, so we planned ahead and picked up groceries at the Hannaford in Ellsworth before getting to the cabin. Make sure to check restaurant schedules if you’re visiting on a Monday or Tuesday, as several were closed. We loved Chipman’s Wharf in Milbridge for lobster rolls, the Meadow’s take-out, Lunch on the Wharf right in Corea, and J.M. Gerrish in Winter Harbor for lunch. The hosts included a helpful binder with lots of recommendations for area activities. We did the Acadia Puffin Tour out of Steuben and loved it. The main part of Acadia is a little over an hour from the cabin, and when we went it was incredibly crowded. We spent two days working our way through Bar Harbor and the main park activities (including the sunrise Cadillac Mountain visit). But we actually much preferred the area around the cabin and a bit north because it was gorgeous and didn’t have the crazy crowds. Keep in mind you need a a park pass and a separate summit car reservation to drive to the summit (sunrise reservations go fast). Jordan Pond House is also taking reservations for priority seating now, and that was filled up six weeks out. The cabin is cozy and could adjust to any temperature, with a/cs set up in both bedrooms upstairs (and it had the wall unit on the first floor), and with a great fireplace. In June we rarely needed a/c, but the cozy fireplace was great for chilly evenings. The grill made for easy cooking at home, and the campfire was perfect for the nights. Our phone’s directions kept looping us on Paul Bunyon Rd to get to the cabin, but there’s actually a much shorter loop that we figured out, which shaved off at least 7 minutes from every drive — from Corea Drive turn left onto Grand Marsh Bay Rd. right after the driveway for Acadia’s Oceanside Meadows Inn.
