Just what we needed; a restful, quiet time in a beautiful location. Well supplied house with many amenties for a very comfortable stay. Plenty of space and amazing scenary. Hopeful for a return in the future.

Clean as a whistle and cozy, this home has amazing views with ten windows facing the water. We loved seeing the lobster boats come and go and although we didn't see seals at this time of year, there were loons and two bald eagles. We just loved it here and hope to return. Thank you!

I loved the location! The communication and responsiveness from the host was fantastic. The property itself and deck could use some updating/remodeling but overall we were comfortable, had all the amenities and loved the full wall of windows viewing the ocean!

This property is right on the water with fantastic views of the bay and harbor. Walk the beach or walk to Perry's Lobster shack for the freshest lobster as you can watch them unload the days catch before you dine.

I had a great time staying at Idle Hour II for four nights in late September. The house is extremely comfortable, with everything needed right at hand. I slept in the upstairs bedroom to maximize my view of the water. The deck facing the inlet was clearly the highlight for me. Sitting there in the evening dark, watching the stars, hearing the water gently lapping at the shore, and just letting time slip away! Utterly magical. I hope I can stay here the next time I visit Maine.

Great property and wonderful view. Sunrise is beautiful and the full wall windows make the views inside great. It was very clean and tidy and the furnishings are comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Idle Hour, until Hurricane Lee chased us out a day early! The location was perfect for the activities we planned. Instructions were clear, house was immaculate and we couldn’t be more pleased with everything. If you’re considering booking this property, put it on your short list!

Beautiful, clean, spacious and well stocked. The drive to Acadia was scenic with convenient stops along the way (fuel, food etc.). We had a great trip and really enjoyed the vibe and views at this house!

We stayed for two weeks here and the view is beautiful, better than the pictures. The house is clean and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies. Perry’s for good lobster is a short walk away. We had a couple of questions and minor issues when we first arrived, and the property manager was helpful and responded promptly. One note of caution for light sleepers — this property is right on a road, but the road is a dead end. It’s not like being on a highway, but there is frequent traffic. Light sleepers might find the traffic noise disturbing. It woke me pretty regularly, but my husband slept like a baby. All things considered, I’d rent again, but bring earplugs for myself.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely property. The view is just incredible and calming.
The house is well equipped and I even managed to get some work done, at the desk facing the ocean.
It’s definitely worth taking walks and enjoying the different points of view. We will come back.

Property was nice… we were looking forward to using the fire pit , but it was not operational . We did report it to the property manager….
The remote controls for the bedrooms ac are cumbersome to use and possibly need new batteries. The view from the living room was very pretty. Home was very clean and nicely decorated.

From the beautiful ocean views; the loons; the long road outside the door for hiking;the open concept of the cottage with all the windows all made the 7 day vacation extraordinary. Perrys Lobster Shack made everything over the top.

We had an amazing time here! Beautiful house, gorgeous area, and a fantastic view to wake up to everyday. Drove into Acadia most days to hike, and felt that this property was such a relaxing place to come back to after a day of adventuring.

What a wonderful getaway right on the water with your own little beach! The views simply can’t be beat. Absolutely stunning!!! The house was exactly as described and very clean. The kitchen is very nicely stocked and we had everything we needed. We were hoping to use the fire pit on our last night and were disappointed to learn there was no propane left. My only suggestion that would have improved our stay would have been the addition of room darkening curtains over the blinds because with those spectacular views comes that beautiful sunshine waking you up nice and early (whether you wanted it to or not!). Pack an eye mask if you’re like us and want to sleep in a little. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you for sharing this beautiful getaway with us!

As others have already noted - the cleanliness and overall condition can't be beat. Responsiveness of property manager was impressive. It was gorgeous and such a treat to stay in. Everything we needed was available throughout the house. Plenty to do in the area even during Thanksgiving week; restaurants and shops gave us nice choices. We had a lovely, memorable week.

The cottage was lovely, very nicely decorated, with a well-supplied kitchen, ample bed and bath linens, wifi, tv and games. The cottage has a waterfront location and many windows resulting in fabulous 180-degree views. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunrise, gazing at the multitude of stars in the night sky, as well as seeing the wildlife and watercraft on the water. For us, the property also provided good access for day trips to Acadia National Park and Schoodic Penninsula (about a 50 minute drive), Blue Hill, Deer Isle. We hope to return sometime soon.

Well maintained, very clean property. No issues at all. Kitchen was well stocked and we really appreciated that toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent were readily available for our stay. Our favorite part of this property however was the view. Waking up to the sunrise over the water each morning was the highlight of our stay. Highly recommend a stay at Idle Hour II.

Very clean and well appointed but most importantly, a wall of windows overlooking the bay. Location is great for exploring with nature trails close by and Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, and Deer Isle all within an hour’s (very scenic) drive.

Beautiful well kept home on the water. The house is well stocked for doing your own cooking. I highly recommend driving down to the Stonnington Lobster Co-op to pick out fresh live lobster off the dock. The best lobster we had during our visit in Maine.

Perfect Getaway Retreat
We enjoyed everything about this place. The location is fantastic, the house was spotlessly clean and well appointed and abundantly supplied. Instructions were clear and concise. The view was exquisite. We felt like we were in our own private world. We hope to return soon for a longer stay.

Incredible views. Great location next to extremely delicious lobster shack. Perfect spot for long weekend. Nice tidepools for toddler to explore. Highly recommend.

Amazing place
The house was amazing and the pictures don’t do it justice. When we got there everything was super clean and it was just wall to wall windows. It was dark when we got there, but the sunrise in the morning was magnificent and the view was to die for. It was a short walk to Perry’s lobster house and totally worth it.

The house is perfect! We were very pleased with how clean and spotless the home was. Attention to detail was evident in every room and very well thought out for the guests.
The location is an easy, pleasant drive with amazing views. The sunrise over the bay is a must see.
We could not have chosen a better home to stay in for out 40th wedding anniversary, and we hope to return in the future!

My daughter and I (both our first trips to Maine) had a wonderful stay at Idle Hour II. Judging from the VRBO photos, we expected the home to be nice, but we were blown away when we actually opened the door and began to settle in. Beautifully appointed, comfortable, spacious, open and airy. Oh, and that view!!
We’d stopped for a few essentials before turning the key and quickly realized that the things we’d forgotten were here already. The attention to detail taken to ensure guests’ stays are blissful was evident from the get-go and throughout our stay.
We enjoyed Acadia, the ocean and its many bays, the rocky, rolling countryside, the wildlife, quiet nights and the clear, star-filled night sky.
Despite living all the way across the country, I am looking forward to a return trip; and there’s nowhere else I would choose to stay.
