First, the good: the unit was clean and roomy, and the property was centrally located and the views were nice. Previous reviews mentioned a limited amount of hot water but my family of five washed dishes and showered with no issues. We did stagger our showers based on the reviews I read.
Now for the bad, CHECK IN and PARKING are a real nightmare. Sugartop does not allow parking at the top for visitors/renters, so when you check in , you have to wait in a one at the guard shack for one of the 5 loading/unloading spaces to be open. Once you are at the front of the line of cars, you can drive up and unload your belongings and party at the top. You then drive down and park at one of the parking lots located at various locations down the mountain. A shuttle runs continuously between the lots and the lodging. Honestly, there appears to be ample parking at the top and second lot, but you will not be able to park there. Check in consisted of us sitting in our car for an hour, then waiting at the top with our luggage for another 45 minutes. The common areas of sugar top feel like the hotel in Hot Tub Time Machine! Also, it looks like you can walk to the Oma lift/run with your gear and drop into Sugar Mountain and then ride the lift back to your room for lunch or a break…this is not the case…the lift is a short distance away but you will have to drive down the mountain, onto the main road, then into Sugar Mountain where you will struggle to find parking like every other poor sap!

Although I was in the area for a work trip, this property offered a "home like" feel to return to. It was clean, well-kept, and provided a beautiful view.

The condo was even nicer and more spacious than the photos showed--we were very pleased. Check in and out were easy and efficient. A comfortable and relaxing stay for the whole family.

Sugar top
Had a great stay at Sugar mountain. This is definitely one of the nicer condos in this resort. We had a little issue with getting the check-in code, but the staff was very accommodating even in the late hours when we arrived! We would certainly stay here again!

This place is just strange. As you drive up the mountain, you hope that wierd high rise is NOT the place you're staying. Parking is in short supply. Our particular condo is in bad repair. It is a hodgepodge of mismatched fixtures, furniture and DIY disasters. A piece of loose threshold in the bathroom has exposed nails. Several bulbs are burned out. Televisions have serious burn in images.
On the positive side, the staff are friendly. The pool area is well maintained. The view is incredible.
For the overall price (room, cleaning fee, service fee, taxes) you would be better off at a chain hotel in Boone.

Decorated nicely, needs more lighting and we never could find the remote to the master bedroom tv and were unable to manually change the channels or adjust the volume. We emailed the management company but never heard back about this. The twin room tv screen was blue. The oven was not working but the management company did let us know ahead of time about this. The location was nice and we had a nice time skiing!

We liked The pool, vending machine & the view.
I’m very disappointed that we chosed to stay at this hotel I was told that they were going to provided toilet, paper but when we got there it was only half a roll of toilet paper and napkins. The apt was not clean at all the floors were dirty, looked like the bedsheets were not washed at all they had dirt and lint on them the sheets were stained, we found a toenail on the bed which was disgusting because it didn’t belong to any of us. The carpet in the king room was beyond dirty with hair and dust. The bathroom with the king bed was not clean the shower curtain had mold and had a bad smell. Also the room didn’t have a remote control when we asked for one they said they would give us one when we returned to the room there was a remote control in our bed no one informed us that they were going to enter the apt so unprofessional. Our stay there was not pleasant at all. One morning we were woken up by knocks on the door at 8 am it was 2 guys bringing in a new stove of course we were not informed of this the guys kept apologizing they thought we were the owners of the apt we told them we were guest. Worst experience ever in a hotel honestly it didn’t feel like we were at a hotel felt more like a roadside motel. The guys in the front desk were very rude we would always say good morning they didn’t even bother to respond. They only allow us to park in the top the 1st day the other 4 days they maded us park all the way down.

The room was nice and up to date and the living space was very open and spacey. Bedrooms were a good size and had comfy beds. Kitchen had good amenities and nice little dining area for 6-8 people.
When we got there, there was a cup left on the counter and a cabinet open, which was a bit odd. The oven apparently wasn’t working for the people before us, but we didn’t use it, so not sure if it was working when we were there or not. The rental company contacted us and was going to fix it though. We did however use the stove top and it did work.
The rental company suggests bringing your own extra toilet paper, towels and sheets as needed, which I would recommend as well. Toilet paper was low in both bathrooms and sheets and towels were both provided, but you have to wash yourself.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this unit!

It is not acceptable to rent a condo without the main oven. Also the place was somewhat clean. We paid $100.00 for someone to clean the place. I would say the place was clean but the vacuuming was not done thoroughly, there was lots of dust, hairs on the carpets and at the corners of the floors. The comforter of the master bedroom needs to be washed with (there is white spots here and there). Lots of dust and peaces under the bed.

We liked the property but the parking was awful, we had to wait for a shuttle each time we needed to head to our property. Also the man at the front desk told everyone or our property to keep the sliding glass doors shut at 9:40 pm. I thought that was too late to be announcing something on the intercom. They should let people park at the property since there should be enough parking for all of the owners. If the property is being rented the owner would not be there so the renters should have a place to park at the property.

The moment we entered the place smelled like it had not been cleaned. The windows and counter tops were dirty. The pots and pans were filthy. I cleaned the entire place rather than complaining because it was 21 degrees outside and I didn’t want to haul all my things outside. I smelled cigar smoking from someone in the complex and the dirty smell never left the condo the entire time we stayed. As a result.. we tried staying away most of the time. The jacuzzi was dirty and the overall experience was very disappointing. We will not return to this location!

If you like peace and quiet and very helpful individuals than this is the place for you. Perfect location, beautiful views, wonderful staff. This is the perfect place for a getaway from the city very remote. A home away from home type rental. My kiddos absolutely enjoyed it my husband and I felt very relaxed. It was absolutely perfect! We will definitely make this an annual thing. The people in town are wonderful all very nice and friendly the staff were easy to talk to and very much helpful with any questions that I had. I couldn't have asked for a better place to vacation at.
