Yura Onsen is a truly special place. The view alone is unforgettable- overlooking the sacred rock, the Sea of Japan, and some of the most beautiful sunsets we saw during our trip. Everything about the hotel felt exceptionally thoughtful. The room was beautiful and remarkable in its attention to detail, and the cleanliness was impeccable. We loved the understated elegance of the hotel and the many beautiful objects and details throughout it, which gave the whole place a distinctive character and atmosphere. The staff were equally impressive: warm, attentive, and highly professional, with a genuine sensitivity to their guests. The facilities were excellent, the onsen beautiful, and the massage chair was an especially welcome bonus. There are many beautiful places to stay in Japan, but Yura Onsen has a character of its own. It was one of the places that stayed with us long after we left, and I would be very happy to return, and to recommend it to others.
