We had a great time at this property. So close to the beach and we went down multiple times a day. The house was clean and had great A/C. The enclosed porch area was a big plus to keep bugs out. We will consider this place again and recommend it!

This was a great spot three homes from the beach. Quiet neighborhood street. Easy beach access. Close to all the restos and Food Lion. Had plenty of kitchen equipment and diverse seating areas - open, screened porch, and indoor. Loved our stay!

Clean, updated, close to the water, what's not to love?

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Tipsy Pelican. It was nice to be able to bring our dog on vacation with us especially since not many places welcome pets. However, the Outer Banks was very pet friendly in general. The house was a great space with enough room for 5 people to spread out. The access to the beach was only a few feet away and it was also close to many little shops, eateries, and the grocery store. The house had everything we needed besides the towels and paper products. It was great having a full service kitchen including a dishwasher all week. I really liked have the option of sitting outside on either the deck or in the screened porch, the deck had a gate so our dog could sit outside with us. Avon is a little outside of where people stay in the Outer Banks, but we really enjoyed the low key and uncrowded feel of the town and beaches.

The family had a great week at the beach. Location was great. The house was right size for a 5 person family. The one complaint was cleanliness of the property. There were cigarette butts all over the outside. We found trash and used q-tips on the floor. The screens on the porch also had holes leading to bugs getting in.

This house was perfect for myself, my husband and our 4 girls. It was clean and the decor was so cute!! We had an amazing week at the Tipsy Pelican and would 100% book again!!

This is our second stay at Tipsy Pelican. We love the layout of the home and the proximity to beach, shops and wonderful restaurants. It is a great size for our family of five. Great deck and enclosed porch. Grateful for our time here! Be sure to bring paper products like toilet paper and paper towels (fyi). Food Lion is close and convenient.

Check in was suppose to be at 4:00. We asked for early check in and was told that we could not get in til after 5:00. Owner stated that we could use the screened in porch and bathrooms, then hit the beach. I thought that was very considerate!

This was our second visit to The Tipsy Pelican and we had another wonderful visit! The house was just a lovely as it was in 2015 .The owners are available and easy to communicate with and have everything we needed to enjoy our vacation! Would highly recommend to any of our friends!

My family and I enjoyed our time at Tipsy Pelican. The area is quieter than Central OBX, and we were a short walk to the beach. There was an issue that the property owner, Jeff, had the management company address for us. Overall, I would happily stay there again if I could next year.

The shower was dirty and someone’s dog before us left a mess in the screened porch that wasn’t cleaned up prior to us arriving. Otherwise it was nicely furnished with adequate kitchen utensils and appliances convenient for the week. Nice outside shower. The owner was responsive.

The owners communicated very well prior to our stay. We loved the location. The beach home was steps from the public access walk through dunes to land directly on the beach. Avon is the perfect speed for us. The area had an assortment of nice boutiques and shops and restaurants. We recommend Oceania Bistro, Ninos Pizza and Pangea Tavern. The house was well appointed and exactly as advertised. The outside shower was super convenient for washing after a long day at the beach. Cute decor. We would love to return.

Really cute place, we loved the decorations and setup in the kitchen and living room. We also liked eating outside on the front deck because it got great ocean breezes. The screened porch on the side was nice but we never stayed out there due to the hot weather. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and various bowls, knives and stuff. One recommendation is to have a light switch in the screened porch so the light could be turned on from the outside. It was pitch black and difficult to open the combo key lock in the dark. Also there was no light underneath the house where the shower and foot bath were located., making it creepy at night. The only complaint about the inside is the double bed in the second bedroom was rock hard and very uncomfortable. It desperately needs a 3 inch foam mattress topper to make it comfortable. And finally there needs to be more toilet paper provided, Covid is over. Three people in a six person house should not run out of TP mid-week. Bottomline, we loved our stay in this beautiful beach house and make sure you find the time to walk the beach at night and see all the crabs running around!

We really enjoyed our stay. However when we first arrived the kitchen floor was dirty, and there was hair in every drawer in the bedrooms and in the cabinets. If i had one recommendation, I would ask the cleaning crew to take a quick vacuum to drawers and the kitchen floor. Other then that we really liked the outdoor shower, and the location to the beach.

The house had everything you could want—a fully stocked kitchen, board games, washer dryer, good WiFi. Comfortable beds, lovely decor. The location is amazing. It was great sitting on the big deck listening to the waves crash as I drank my morning coffee. Very pet friendly house and location. Will stay again.

The house was a nice as advertised. It can feel tight with more than 3 adults + pets, but the outdoor porches are very spacious. We had a great time. The home was well appointed, clean, everything in working order. And you can't beat the location.

Perfect location to the beach and the DQ at the end of the street was a big hit! Jeff was super responsive!

The owner apologized but said it was the responsibility of the departing tenant. In fairness to the previous tenant that’s not stated anywhere. There was also the remnants of an unrepaired broken window in the kitchen that was dropping bits of tempered glass on the floor. The owner apologized. The stove threw the breaker if more than one burner was on. Again the owner apologized. He made no attempt to send someone to clean up or repair the window or stove. The interior of the house reeked of disinfectant, the carpeting is stained and it’s very dusty. This owner needs to spend a little money on a local handyman.

We enjoyed the location just a few steps from the beach stairs, screened in porch, and having everything on one level (convenient with little ones). Lots of hooks for hanging towels. Stove was wonky while we were there, but the owner offered to fix it.
