Our time at Hill City Hideaway was great! Nice house, great view and quiet setting - and it was just a short drive from all of the black hills destinations we wanted to visit.

The property is secluded and cozy. There were moldy coffee grounds in the coffee maker, no laundry detergent to start linens at check out so used some we had with us. Needs a good dusting and freezer cleaned some. A shirt left from previous visitor and clean towels left on a dresser, not put away. A bathroom faucet was not properly attached and was spraying water when tried to use. We shut water off and notified owner/manager who thanked us for notifying them but didn't follow through with fixing or letting us know they weren't going to while we were there so unable to use that bathroom earmarked for two guests. We honestly would stay again - just felt like a rushed cleaning job to get us in for our stay and not that attentive once there. Hopefully this review might help that.

This was the first time we’ve gotten a place in the Hills and stayed in the rental the entire time!! It was cozy, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The beautiful snowy scene outside the windows were perfectly enhanced with the deer that wandered in each afternoon. We enjoyed 3 days of meal-making and game-playing! The host kept the communication open and had the driveway scooped for our arrival. Thank you for providing a very comfortable place for our winter getaway!

Our stay at the house was great. This house was the perfect home base to see all the area had to offer. We visited Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Wind Caves, the Mammoth Site, Wall Drug, Badlands, Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. The location was central to all.
We had looked at other rentals in Custer and Keystone, but I'm so glad we chose this one. Located on a quiet road, in a quiet area, it was only a 5 minute drive, at the most, to Hill City where there is a nice grocery store, restaurants and activities. All the major roads to travel north, south, east or west are close by.
The house is comfortable with lots of room. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, we each had our own room and only 2 had to share a bathroom. Great kitchen and dining area. Morning coffee time was either spent outside on the patio or in the upstairs living area watching the sun come up. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer available to do laundry. We got really dusty on an ATV adventure and needed to wash clothes.
The owner was quick to respond when I had a few questions before our arrival. The house had everything we needed, fans, hair dryers, water dispenser (score!), laundry soap. If I ever come back to the area, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Our only complaint was that the WIFI was really spotty, especially in the evening. Not able to chill in front of the TV after a long day. Certainly not a deal breaker.

We loved the coziness of this property. It had everything we wanted…spacious kitchen, big table for dining and games, enough bedrooms and bathrooms for each of us, and spectacular views to name a few. The host was great at communicating the check-in procedure. This was the first time we’d ever stayed in and never left once we got into the rental!! We hibernated this time and were not looking forward to ending our trip’

Our family really enjoyed that this property was centrally located to all the activities we wanted to do. The location made us feel right at home, the house was warm and cozy at night when we returned from our days adventure. This time of year was perfect for sight seeing because there weren’t any crowds, and the weather was nice for hiking.

House was great. Location was great. Lloyd, the property manager was helpful and easy to work with. It was great to see deer in the yard every morning and evening. The only negative would be that the internet service was not great . I’m sure because of being in the mountains. Would recommend this house and would stay here again.

The location is close enough to town to be convenient but far enough away so that you aren't listening to road traffic. We had deer in the yard every morning and evening. Beautiful sunrises!

This is a beautiful place to stay. We say deer all around the property every morning and evening. The kitchen could use a few more items to be "fully stocked" but overall everything was clean and great and they were so helpful with any questions or concerns that we had. Thank you so much!

Great location, convenient to all that the Black Hills have to offer. Well furnished, spacious and lovely home. Quiet location with frequent visiting deer. Nice touches like indoor and outdoor games, large screen televisions, cozy throws and cushions. Responsive owner by text and phone.

This place worked out well for my family and I. It was advertised as 3 bedroom but it has 4 bedrooms. Being a couple miles out of town, this place has more privacy and less noise. The area around the house has a ton of deer which was nice to see. My family appreciated a fan in every bedroom which we all are accustom to sleeping with. That was a nice plus. There was also a cooler we borrowed from the garage for our vehicle during our stay. The Hill City area worked out well as far as being centrally located for trip.

Great place to spread out and to access many different attractions
This was a great place to stay with easy access to all that we wanted to do in the Black Hills area. We were able to spread out, make some of our own meals and relax after a busy day.

Just Right
It was located in a perfect location out of town so you could enjoy some peace and quiet after a day of sight seeing/tourist traps. We are used to living on a farm so staying in town is not something we would enjoy. Nice big yard for kids to play. Plenty of sleeping and living space. We had mom, 4 kids(ages 3-9), and 2 grandmas. The house was big enough so we all could have our own space. Short drive to town, great grocery store. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay! A million times better than staying in a hotel.

Peaceful Nature
When looking for a place surrounded by mountains and nature this was the perfect place along with being big enough we were not on top of each other on the days we decided to rest. A very nice home located near Hill City and convenient to many of the Black Hills attractions. The house was ready when we arrived and had a nice kitchen. The property would benefit from some additional towels and a few more kitchen bowls. Overall we loved the property and would go back if we are ever in the are again

Hill City was a great location for traveling to nearby parks. The home had everything we needed for our stay-including some snow! It was cozy and homey with wildlife in the yard.
