Our second time at Yew Tree Cottage. Honestly, we love it. It’s always thoroughly clean and welcoming. We spent 5 nights there this time (as opposed to 3 nights last time). If you’re looking for somewhere private, quiet, cosy and comfy, this is the place for you. We loved having the lamps on in the evening, getting comfy and relaxing in the living room. As an animal lover and someone who works with cats, the farm cat Margot is a delight. The sweetest cat. For us personally, she is a MASSIVE perk of Yew Tree Cottage and definitely not a “pest” as someone said in their review. It’s all perspective of course but it’s certainly not a word I’d use. Very comfortable, stylish and homely. Well equipped, spacious and peaceful.

This is a lovely full size, single bedroom, stand-alone cottage. The fit-out is sensitive to guest needs. Everything is kept in good order, with a convenient internal laundry and a lovely terrace to sit in the sun. It is located within a working farm but was extremely quiet.

The location was limiting. With a car (which I had) it was fine - but it lacks nice walks and things to do on foot. It just doesn't have the peace and polish of other areas. There was a note in the cottage to not feed the cats. Respectfully, I rented a cottage not a cat, and that cat was a pest. I could not open the doors and enjoy outdoor flow as the cat came in. I opened the half barn door and the cat jumped in. I put a basket of washing down to hang it, and the cat jumped in it. It sat there all day, every day. Rather than instructing guests not to feed the cat, instruct the cat to stay indoors with you.

We loved EVERYTHING about Yew Tree Cottage. As soon as walked in we were in awe on how beautifully put together it is. It feels spacious and yet cosy and inviting at the same time. The sound of nothing but birds, cows and the odd little meow from visiting Margot the cat who made our stay even more special (we also miss her!). The bedroom is fantastic, the bed is likely one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in, it’s also HUGE! Our 3 nights here were brilliant and we honestly wish we could have stayed even longer. We were quite sad leaving and we will most certainly be back!
