Excellent spot, female staff so lovely and sweet (felt like they were my friends), also cool communal chilling areas

Bathrooms could’ve been cleaner, but that’s hard when you’re sharing with boys.

Nice beds, clean, proper curtains, good outdoor and indoor rec areas, good AC even when it’s 35C

The bathroom, even though it was clean, one bathroom for the whole hostel for both males and females didn’t feel convenient. There is a female dorm, but if you need to shower you use the mixed bathroom, in which doesn’t have a separate space from the shower to get changed. (There are hooks but your towel/clothes will get wet from shower) so this makes it awkward to have mixed gender bathroom if you can’t properly get changed in the bathroom. There is a huge female “dressing room” space, but I would rather have a female dedicated bathroom than space to do my make up…

We had an amazing stay at Shkodra Hostel. From the moment we arrived, Ferni and Armando made us feel incredibly welcome. They were both so kind, friendly, and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and giving great advice for our time in Albania. If you’re planning to do the Valbona–Theth hike, I would highly recommend booking through this hostel. They made the whole experience easy, from organising transport and helping with the logistics to sharing their local knowledge and tips.

Good tours organised, friendly staff, good location, helped organise my transportation to Valbona and from Theth.
