The owner (who speaks enough English) is a wonderful cook, so be sure to order breakfast and dinner (which are reasonably priced). Staying here is more like a family stay than a ryokan.
The onsen was lukewarm at night (hot in the morning) in a not very attractive setting. The toilets are not modern. There is a dog who barks a few times a day and a small boy who likes to bang on his drums during breakfast and around dinner time.

"It felt very clean and homey. It was great to come in out of the rain and wash away all of our troubles. The onsen was so cozy and the beds were perfect."
