Cute venue on the outskirts of Standish overlooking fields. The pub itself is nice.
It's just too overpriced what what I got. A very small room. Cleanliness not great. The kettle was thick with dust. Cups a bit stained. Towels were ancient. Bedding was tired. Ensuite tiny and very tired. I felt like I was staying in someone's spare room on old bedding.
It could be good. It needs some TLC.

Breakfast was absolutely incredible! One of the best full English I’ve had.
Room was as described and nothing wrong with it. Just note that the ‘small double’ is just that. Clean and tidy

Staff friendly and helpful which was great.
Room was externally accessed only via a.fire exit and concrete stairwell. This will change as the hotel is fully refurbished.

Great breakfast, cost extra but worth the money/
Having to go outside and up a flight of concrete stairs to the room. Internal lift to bedrooms required.

When I had a problem with the door to my room I was moved the room was comfy and well set up had a great night's sleep
When I booked it said breakfast included to be told on my booking in that it was room only for that room so a little disappointed

The pub was full
The manager/owner as being a wheelchair bound amputee that struggles to leave the house after building up confidence was left pissed off
Everything was embarrassing to myself

Dog friendly room very good. Staff made us feel very welcome. Lovely pub and food. Room comfortable and clean. Walking distance to Standish which presented several pubs, cafes and shops.
Meal service was a bit disjointed due to covid regs and new staff.
