Spent two great nights here while volunteering at Garrison Brothers.

Highly recommend this property. Great tiny house with amazing views. Only about 2 miles from Harrison brothers and Albert ice house. Super clean, little touches made things especially nice.

My wife and I really enjoyed the cottage in all aspects: hospitality of Jack (host), cleanliness of the cottage, creature comforts, location - everything was just great.
For a physically small cottage, there was more than enough room. The rooms were well laid out and the decorating was very homey and stylish. I was surprised at all the thought-out details; they obviously planned this cottage with us, the renters, in mind. From the customized welcome board to the wine glasses decorated and waiting to the (surprise!) toe heater in the bathroom to the extra wide deck - WOW! And the bed was so inviting and comfortable. We slept so well.
Jack’s property was so quiet and located away from the surrounding towns. The cottage was situated on a little rise and you could see across the prairie and to the bigger hills to the east.
We loved our visit in every way and are already planning our next visit!
Jack was so communicative and made the whole experience so easy and welcoming. Thank you!! See you again!

The property was awesome. Very clean, perfect size for the two of us. The added touch of having breakfast supplies, water and sodas in the fridge when we got there was awesome and very appreciated. They also supplied travel versions of toiletries in the bathroom, which we didn't need this trip but love the idea just in case i didn't plan well. Loved the firepit and deck. The down side is it is a ways out in the country and outside of Fredericksburg but it did not damper our trip. The view and quiet makes up for the distance. We will have it on our list for next time !

This little cabin was perfect for just the two of us. Incredible starry nights on the patio lounging by the gas fire pit. We saw deer on the property and were close enough to enjoy the LBJ State park for the solar eclipse. The owner even left us solar eclipse glasses for viewing. How incredible is that! We would definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect for wine tasting at the different wineries along Hwy. 290 and super close to the town of Fredericksburg. The views from this home are beautiful. The home is very clean and the fridge is stocked with breakfast items and sodas and waters for your stay. We couldn’t of asked for more welcoming hosts, thank you Mr. James!

The views were gorgeous from the big porch and the house was extremely clean. The host went above and beyond with having everything prepared and having plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. If you are looking for a well kept date night getaway, this is a great stay! Just a couple minutes from the bar/dancehall in Albert and about 15-20 minutes from Fredericksburg

Easy to find with instructions provided by owner. Upon entering the property we were amazed by the beautiful view. The home itself provided extra amenities not provided by other rentals. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone. The Jaime Family

I enjoyed my stay immensely. I was pleasantly surprised how secluded it was yet so close to our wine and bourbon venues. And the sweet hummingbirds, who knew I was at the age that they would bring me such joy. The lighting at sunset was amazing. Texas at its finest.

This is our second trip to Absolute Repose! This cottage is a gem located exactly where we love to be in the Texas Wine Country. Easy access to Fredericksburg, Hye, Johnson City, Blanco, Luckenbach makes our trips so effortless! Everything we need including Hill Country views & amazing sunrises. The only hard decision is whether to eat out nearby or stay home & enjoy the expansive outdoor deck by the fire!

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away in the country. It was so nice to relax, enjoy a few wineries and restaurants in the area. We also cooked and enjoyed quiet evenings at Absolute Repose. James (host) did a great job communicating before and during our trip. Also, k-cups, beverages, and breakfast items were an added plus! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

My husband and I stayed here last weekend and it was simply fantastic! The view is amazing and just like the pictures show. It was wonderful sitting on the patio at night with the fire pit watching the stars. Magical!!
The home itself was spotless and it was even decorated for Christmas 🎄
Nice little touches as well, such as items stocked in the fridge and bathroom for us to use.
Only a 20 minute drive in to town and even closer to many wineries.

It is our second time staying at Absolute Repose and it is everything and more. It’s private, it’s amazingly beautiful and it’s undeniably relaxing. The Owner is so nice and leaves you everything need to make your stay unforgettable. I can’t say enough how wonderful this place is.

We went on this trip for our 5-year wedding anniversary. This location was exactly what we were looking for a big city disconnect. It was private and cozy and had everything you could think of for a country getaway. The weather was cold and perfect to sip hot chocolate on the deck.
James was an incredible host and suggested several eating establishments as well as wineries in the area. He made himself available during our stay for any questions or issues we should have. Everything was absolutely perfect and I cannot wait to come back again!

Everything about our stay at Absolute Repose was perfect. The views were impeccable and we certainly enjoyed the peace and quiet, yet still close to wineries and Fredericksburg. James was very accommodating and helpful with recommending great things to do in the hill country.

Wow!! Absolute Repose is FANTASTIC!! It was super clean, bed was very comfy and the sheets/bedding was soft (not crunchy and cheap). The little touches around the cottage were thoughtful and appreciated. Like the blackout curtains in the bedroom, basket of necessities in the bathroom in case you forgot to pack something and breakfast items in the fridge. You can tell James takes a lot of pride in this cottage as it is very well maintained. The directions were easy to follow and the property was just beautiful. The VIEW off the porch is picturesque. Lots of deer running around in the morning and amazing hawks looking for their breakfast. This cottage is very comfortable and it was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to spend time there. Can't wait to return in the early summer.

Loved everything about staying at this property. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, different types of other birds and deer each morning and evening on the expansive deck. Loved that it was close enough to plenty of things to do and places to eat but far enough away from the hustle and bustle! James, the property owner was awesome! Very communicative and sent lots of suggestions most of which we did or tried to do. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you, James for being such a wonderful host! PS.. I got to see amazing stars and the moon last night when the clouds cleared! :)

This place is hands down my favorite home to stay in when visiting the hill country. Its got views, privacy, wildlife, and all the comforts of home (kitchen, big 2 person shower, propane pit, etc).

Close to tons of stuff. Hamilton pool. Enchanted rock. We didn’t see any people while at the property. It was just relaxing and wonderful. Highly recommend. We will be back. The owner makes the stay even better.

Hidden gem!
This place is a hidden gem! Off the beaten path, secluded and peaceful yet close to all the wineries. The view from the cabin is just gorgeous! Great amenities in the cabin and James was very accommodating. My husband and I will definitely be back!

Weekend Getaway
Me and my wife spent the weekend here and I must say the pictures doesn’t do the views justice. The place was amazing and James was extremely helpful on good spots to eat, places to see, things to do, popular winery’s in the area. I will definitely be staying here again on our next visit.

We love this property and won't stay anywhere else when we visit this area. It's fairly secluded and definitely away from the hustle and bustle of Fredericksburg, but close enough to enjoy the shops downtown if you want to. Beautiful views and great bird and wildlife watching. Great deck to enjoy a glass of local wine in the evening. We can't wait to relax on our next stay!

First of all this modern style cabin was great for me an my wife to enjoy. It had everything we were looking for plus all those little touches you don't expect. From facing the perfect direction for the morning sunrise view to the humming bird feeder where so many hummingbirds would stop to drink. My wife loved watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee as well as being able to enjoy grilling up a ribeye steak at sunset. Just close enough to Fredericksburg and enchanted rock that we were able to visit and enjoy during the weekend. Highly recommend.

This place was perfect for our anniversary getaway!! The scenery is great!! It is secluded for privacy but the location is convenient for any direction you want to go. The house itself is adorable!! The owners were fantastic, accommodating and very helpful with trip ideas!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would def rent again!! Thank you for opening up your place for others to enjoy!!
