Maré Mansa Pousada e Hostel

The location of this hostel is top-notch, right next to the mainstreet and the orla. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Big plus was also the breakfast which was really good.

The room was quite small and only had small lockers. Also there is only one bathroom in the room so you sometimes have to wait until you can use the toilet or shower.

The room was amazing, very comfortable and very clean as we had a very nice view on the beach. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Mariana, Noah, Paulo and Nicole were very very kind, helpful and professional. Also the breakfast was very good and healthy. We love it so much. The common area was very chill and the whole place made us wanna stay there more time. Would definitely come back here. Best place to stay in Itacare.

Team of hosts were fabulous, friendly and informative, which made it extra special.

Lack of comfortable seating in communal areas.

The location is very pleasant but unfortunately very noisy. The noise comes mostly from the shops across the street, but also from construction work next door, even on weekends. It's close to the best restaurant in town, TIA DETH, and at least one calm beach. It's also walking distance from the bus station. The staff is extremely friendly and breakfasts were very pleasant in the open patio with many plants and great music. The decoration lightens up the simple furniture.

The manager asked a staff person to remove us from the room after we paid in advance and left our luggage there. I was shocked since this never happened before and we have traveled in many countries and continents for decades. The manager claimed the front room with the view had already been reserved for someone else and without any reimbursement or compensation placed us in a tiny room in the back, very moldy, awful smell, tiny indoor window from which one could see a blinking light that was activated all night long, impairing any possibility for rest after dark. The manager refused to talk to us directly. We had to leave early the next morning and lost time and energy with this unexpected mishap. Communication skills were certainly lacking in the management since another night we were "forced" to sleep for one night in a dormitory and no one told us it was for both men and women sharing an aweful bathroom. Unfortunately these incidents lead us to reconsider our final evaluation so I cannot say if I would stay there again. The friendliness of the staff personnel does not make up for very poor management.
