The house is beautiful and has many amenities, but some of the items promised by Vacasa were not available upon check-in and repeated requests to provide the items went unanswered until I escalated to management and they finally made it right, albeit halfway through our stay.
Even with that, the mattresses in the lower level bedrooms need to be replaced. They are either lumpy or saggy and very uncomfortable. The drawers in our bedroom dresser were falling apart. Headrests were missing from the hot tub. Instead of extra bath towels, we received multiple cloth bath mats even though bath rugs were already in the bathrooms. Pillow cases were hidden in drawers and had never been put on the pillows.
I would still recommend this house as the location is ideal and the view is gorgeous and compared to other houses the layout is excellent. It's rare to find four adult size beds.

I've rented many houses, in many cities over the course of my life but nothing compares to this place. Not a single thing was overlooked in the construction of this place. I've never been so sad to leave a place in my life. Waking up to the views from this house can only be described as perfection. Complete, unobstructed views. Decks for days. Absolute peace and tranquility. I found myself finding reasons to stay in instead of going out. It was a happy accident landing here after the house I originally booked was unavailable but I swear, the universe was looking out for me giving me this one instead. It was a bit of overkill for just two of us, but I'd happily stay here again and again.

We love everything about this house! This was our 3rd stay & will be back again. We tried for two weeks but it didn't work out. We now compare everything to the Jersey Paddler.

This is our second year vacationing at the Jersey Paddler. We loved it last year, so this year, it almost felt like coming home!! We love the personal touch of the bottle of wine and a hand written note from the owners welcoming us to the house. I've been vacationing in the Outer Banks for 27 years now, and I think this is our favorite home so far! The kitchen has every dish, pan, utensils, etc. and loads of counter room, which we find necessary! The great room with its bead-board vaulted ceiling is so cozy and the little screened-in porch was perfect for sitting in the evening and combing through the shells we picked up at the beach without being eaten alive by mosquitos! Thank you for a wonderful vacation again!!

VRBO or Hatteras Realty?
We have rented MANY properties both in the northern section and on Hatteras Island over the past 20+ years and can honestly say this was probably #1 as far as location and having every amenity we could need. The reason for the 'short title' of the review is because we're confused about the way we made this rental through VRBO site, but somehow ended up dealing strictly through Hatteras Realty. The initial on-line reservation process didn't go well for whatever reason, but it eventually got worked out. Just need to understand how to do this more smoothly if we're going to reserve again.

Checkin cleaning
Our Rental was spacious..beautiful..and had anything anyone could ever want or need while on a weeks vacation. We had a 10 month old with us and they had two pack and plays ..gates..other items. However the refrigerator had ketchup smeared on the outside of the doors. Tile floors has sand all over them..the carpet was not vacuumed..we found Gold fish snacks in the den on the carpet. We were short on dishes the entire week so we bought paper goods..when we got ready to leave we opened up the dishwasher to make sure the teenagers had not put what few dishes we had used in it and we found the dishwasher full of dishes that we could have used during our stay...but other than having to clean up the cottage before we could stay our trip and The Jersey Padder was great. Thank you!

Great location and view.
Floor plan was great with 4 masters. Great dick and sound access. Beds were very uncomfortable. Awful smell in the upper master bath. We were there when Jose was off shore and the house swayed constantly for 2 days, the motion was severe enough it even woke us up.
