its location

I saw the rest of the reviews and what I’m gonna say here really doesn’t comply with them. I wonder why. Maybe because we were the only guests at the hostel. At check in they say the front door closes at 10 pm so if we need to come back from the city we need to ring the bell. so at 10 pm we wanted to get out for a beer and be back at 12am, but the guy at the reception told us that it is not allowed. We were shocked. this is not prison. We said in Spanish “please let us out” and he was furious and opened the door for us. The entire evening I was stressed that he wouldn’t let us in when we get back. It was fine and he opened the door for us, and I must say we came back before curfew (isn’t it weird that a hostel has curfew?). The whole experience was very bad.

Great location, we were able to walk everywhere - just a few minute walk from the bus station! The private room was really good value for money, we had a tv, private bathroom, blanket, towels, soap, hot water etc. Very quiet in the hostel which was perfect - away from the noise of the other streets. The shared kitchen was good, had all the utensils we needed and had a lovely view of Guatapé. The staff were really friendly too, I’d definitely recommend staying here!

The private bathroom has no ceiling so you don’t have too much privacy and can hear everything. & one problem was that when we tried to light the gas on the stove it was quite powerful and we nearly burnt ourselves.

The lady that greeted us was super kind and friendly. The room was very clean. The bathroom is small but good enough (not so hot water but not cold). Kitchen was well equipped and with a wonderful view of the mountains and Guatapé. Free coffee and tea.

The bed we had was unfortunately too small and we didn't sleep properly, not super comfortable but it's only our opinion. Rooms are small which is fine but we lacked a table or something to put our things, would be good to add this :)

My room was super clean and the beds are comfortable. They waited for me in the evening. I got 2 towels and free soap. Location is great and I feel safe.

Great people very helpful and concerned to make your stay the best possible. It feels a bit like home. The room and kitchen are perfect and the price is great for everything you’ve got.

there was no window in our room and the bathroom didn’t have a roof so you could hear everything from the bedroom. no bedside tables

amazing location, beautiful views from the shared kitchen/terrace. free coffee in the mornings was a plus. laundry service and wonderful staff.

Nice hostel with a pleasant terrace and shared kitchen. Clean and comfortable. The location is perfect! Would recommend :)

All good, just note the bed could be too small for two tall/big people!! Also not so much privacy in the bathroom which isn't completely separated from the bedroom (no ceiling).

excellent location

hot water was supplied by a suicide shower head and not working, so our showers were very cold. the mattress cover was plastic and made us feel like we were cooking as we slept. we woke up constantly in the night trying to regulate temperature. everything echoed, so noise was exceptionally disruptive, especially during quiet hours.

For the price, this lodging is one of the best deals in the world.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Good kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. Great location close to the centre of town. Hot water, though there's only one temperature – scorching!

The bed was a small double and the mattress was wrapped in plastic, so it feels horrible and makes a noise when you move around at night. No furniture, aside from one chair so there's nowhere to unpack your stuff. One bare bulb so the lighting in the evening is harsh. The window rattled in the wind and made a loud noise.

The staff and location is phenomenal. The common space with the kitchen is perfect and the overall vibe was really cozy and friendly. We extended our stay by two nights because we liked it so much.

Our room was quite small with very tiny openings to the corridor and no space to place or hang your staff. Some construction work from over the road as well.

Central location- less than 5 min walk to bus station, very friendly (only Spanish speaking) host/reception, free (packet) coffee, windows in room opened.

Toilet in bathroom a bit cramped (common), small shutter window linking room to hallway was missing a panel- could have let insects inside.

Great location with a clean and well equipped kitchen and free coffee and creamer. We had hot water and it was very safe as the doors were locked between 10pm and 8am but the staff didn’t mind you disturbing them to get let in our out during this time.

Reviews said the beds were small and we thought we’d be ok but it was a tad uncomfortable! The walls are thin and that’s fine for us with hearing muffled talking or dogs barking, but the very loud “passionate noises” coming from the room next door wasn’t ideal but I know that’s not the hostel’s fault
