A lovely large, nicely renovated old home, spacious kitchen and dining room. Comfortable beds and 3rd floor TV room and/or quiet getaway space. Great walking trails along the Kanawha River. Enjoyed talking with resident neighbors.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house. Beds were comfy. Property manager was easy to connect with. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

This house was spacious for our group of 8 people and for the most part, the listing and pictures were accurate. There were a few unexpected things that I would want future guests to be mindful of, as applicable - the queen beds mentioned in the listing are air mattresses and were not all available upon arrival… if depending upon a specific number of beds, maybe confirm availability. The exterior of the house was also not well lit, so it was a difficult to find after dark. We communicated all of our first impressions and feedback to Rodger upon arrival and found him to be very responsive and understanding. Had it not been for Rodger’s excellent handling of the situation, we may have only given a 3-star rating.

The house was great! Property owner was Great! My only complaint is I had a hard time sending messages to the property owner, which is a VRBO problem, not the property owners. Or maybe I just couldn’t figure it out. In all an really cool house. Kids LOVED it!

Great kitchen! Spacious living space for dining and playing games. Beautiful bedrooms with big comfortable beds. It was a perfect location for our family.

This was a perfect central place to relax after a day of enjoying riding on the curves and hills of WV. Our girls group just ordered in and ate at the big dining room table, had drinks on the porch and then back to the table for games. We were able to park six motorcycles in the garage with ease. Rodger answered any of our concerns immediately. We all decided it was the PERFECT SPOT for us.

The home was spacious and squeaky clean. I enjoyed the view of the river from the front porch each morning and night. The beds were very comfortable and We felt very safe in the neighborhood

We arrived on a Friday and found the property to be in great condition, easy to access, and convenient to just about everything in Charleston. Nestled in the Luna Park district, it has access to grocery stores and downtown Charleston. There is a bike and walking path along the River, just across the street from the front porch. The property has all the necessary amenities, such as a washer / dryer, dishwasher and modern kitchen appliances. I would definitely recommend this property. The owner was responsive to us when we had an issue getting in (that was our fault, not his).

This was the easiest and most accommodating house to stay in, we highly recommend this stay. The house was perfect and met all of our needs!

We had our entire family in to celebrate our parents 80th Birthdays. Traveling in from Louisville, Northern Kentucky, Lexington, KY and Gettysburg, PA. We chose Charleston due to it's location between all of this points. We couldn't have been happier with this property as it had all the comforts we were looking for for our celebration. Our plan was to cook in and enjoy the company of family and this Kitchen was perfect for entertaining the 11 of us for all meals and dining. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. With multiple full and half baths it was perfect for our large group. Rodger, our host, was a delight to work with and communicated the details of the property clearly and promptly. We will make this a regular destination for our family as it is an easy drive in and parking was adequate. Thank you for a great property and stay

Spacious house that accommodated 5 visitors for Thanksgiving week. Close to downtown, restaurants and activities. Rodger was readily in communication with us for anything we needed. We enjoyed our trip.

This is a nice, historic house that is close to downtown. Some of the furniture even looks antique. We liked that it was pet friendly. The property manager was very responsive, especially when one of the codes to get into the house was incorrect. Thank you for helping us, Rodger! (VRBO sent one code to unlock the house, and the property manager emailed a different code. Once I knew to use his code and not VRBO's code, the problem was fixed.) We did have one issue with how the house was described in the property listing. It was described as having four bedrooms and the master bedroom was described as having two beds, so the house should have five beds total. However, the 3rd floor bedroom only has an air mattress (not a real mattress) and the extra bed in the master bedroom is only an air mattress. This was a shock as people who were supposed to sleep on those beds thought they were getting a real mattress and they didn't. Air mattresses are not comfortable and renters should know if that is the type of mattress they are getting. For people with spinal problems, the mattress in the First Floor bedroom causes you to "roll" to the middle of the bed which can make back problems worse. The bed may need wood reinforcements under the box spring, or maybe it is the box spring or mattress that is the problem - hard to tell. Besides the bedroom issues, please know that this is a very nice house and we would definitely consider staying here again (especially if real mattresses were substituted for the air mattresses). We really liked that the home was pet friendly. As a caution, there are a lot of items that could potentially be breakable. If you have young children or clumsy pets, keep an eye on them so that items don't break. The neighborhood is also a bit run-down so we would recommend using the 2 car garage.

This rental had an old world charm but modern kitchen and bathrooms. There was a massage chair and comfortable furniture and beds. We appreciated how communicative the owner was. The garage made it easy and safe to come and go.

The home was clean, spacious and the beds were very comfy. We had plenty of room for 10 adults. Location was great. Easy checkin and checkout. Definitely would stay here again when traveling back to Charleston.

Was a beautiful house! We weren’t there long, but had no problems getting in the house and the river view was really nice! Beds were comfortable and everything was clean!
