Lovely well kept and equipped home. Great location, everything you need in the kitchen and lots of toys for the little and big ones! We were happily surprised to see two full sized kayaks in addition to the kids’ kayak listed and a paddleboard. Hope to come back soon!

Our extended family of 15 total stayed in 2 houses at Lake Gaston to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Our house was wonderful - as beautiful & well-furnished as advertised. The owners brought in extra tables & chairs for the house that we rented so that we could have everyone eat together for one of the meals that we shared during the holiday. They were very kind and accommodating; we would love to stay here again!

The property was great and suitable for our family. The surrounding area was lacking in shopping and food services. Having only one full bath and four bedrooms on the lower level was problematic. The TV service was difficult to find local news. and programming.

We had a fantastic experience at 5 Mile Sunrise with our large mixed group. We had four families, but there was plenty of room for everyone. The main lake location was absolutely perfect! We swam right off the dock every day, enjoyed all of the watersports equipment provided (SUPs, small kayaks, inflatables, tube), and easily docked the pontoon boat we rented for the week. The house was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked for cooking (we didn't eat out due to COVID), and the pantry was well stocked as well. The beds were really comfortable and the linens and towels provided were really nice. Finally the property managers were responsive and kind. We have zero complaints and highly recommend the house!

Our stay was a family vacation involving 5 adults and 7 children. It was cut short by an unexpected health issue with some of the children. Until that event we all were having a great time at the lake. Most interaction was done online over the internet with little difficulty. The few contacts with team members was also completed with no difficulty.

Beautiful property and great location. We had a great week on the lake. This was our first time to lake Gaston and we will be visiting again. We were able to rent a boat and keep it docked at the house. The weather was good enough in October to swim in the lake as well as do some great fishing. The house was spacious and everything was as expected. Close to food, hardware and liquor store for anything you forgot. Owners and property manager were easy to get a hold of for questions. Thanks so much for a great week !

This property was so clean, comfortable, and had such amazing views! The set-up is perfect to have parents upstairs and allow kids to have a space of their own downstairs. The owner and management company where so responsive and wonderful to work with! The only suggestion I would make is to invest in more water toys (Adult Kayak, new paddleboards and at least 2, life vests, etc.) Overall, this property is truly a "home away from home."

We had a great time with 2 families staying in this home. Well appointed and spacious, and you can’t beat the location on main lake yet still with calm enough waters for small children to play safely. The screened in porch and water toys (kayak, canoe & SUP) were fantastic! Owner was very responsive to very minor issues and to general inquiries.

My wife and I spent time in this house for 5 nights as a belated anniversary trip. It was absolutely perfect. The house was amazing. Plenty of room for us to come back with family. The water access was amazing. And the view was breathtaking.

We had a marvelous time at Lake Gaston. The beds here were very comfortable, as was that comfy sofa in the main room. There were lots of toys for my grandchildren to play with. The use of the paddleboard was the big hit of the week! We spent most of our time down at the boathouse. The water was clean and deep, great for jumping off the dock into the lake!

This was the first time our entire family had been together in years. The house was perfect for a large family. It had everything we coukd ask for and more. The dock was our hangout everyday. We swam, and jumped off the dock. There was plenty of room for our boat and 2 rented jet skis. The big boys fished every morning and every night. Dinners were easy with the large grill and well equipped kitchen. We rented linens which made packing a breeze. The screened in porch was my morning retreat and the sunrises were astonishing. We loved every minute of our time here.

The home owners and the house were great!! The house is in a convenient location and is everything we hoped for it to be.

We rented the Five Mile Sunrise property for a week in mid-July. This was our fourth summer renting a lake house on Gaston and the first for this property. The owner and property manager were responsive, great to work with, and the owner was willing to give us some extra time to make our decision to lock in the property amidst all that has been happening with COVID-19. When we arrived the house was clean, had a well-equipped kitchen, and was as beautiful as shown in the pictures. The house is upscale and very spacious which gave us plenty of room the spread out. The master suite and bath were very impressive and the assortment of beds in the other bedrooms easily accommodated the family and friends. The furniture, TVs, and internet equipment all appear relatively new and fairly high end for a rental property. The screened in porch was especially nice in the early morning and late evening. One minor inconvenience is that there are only two showers for a house that can sleep 15, one in the downstairs bathroom (4 of the 5 bedrooms are on that floor) and one upstairs off of the master. Make sure the master bath is available to some of the downstairs occupants if you have a house full like we did. Perhaps an outdoor shower could be added to the back patio to help take some of the load off of the downstairs bathroom without increasing flow to the septic system? Also, adding a second sink in the downstairs bathroom if that room is remodeled would be good. These certainly are not deal breakers for our group, but we did want to share for the owner and future guests. The boat house and dock worked out great for our family. We had two boats, my 18 ft. runabout enjoyed the boat lift and we had plenty of room to tie up my daughter’s heavier, fancy wake-surf boat beside the dock. The large dock space with its deep water saw plenty of use. Having the community boat ramp close by was another great feature. Gaston is a lovely lake with perfect water temperature for our boating and swimming activities. We do not know what next year will bring, but the family recommendation was to consider this property again. Five Mile Sunrise is a lovely home with ample space, amenities, and lake access for a wonderful vacation!

We came to Lake Gaston for our annual family vacation. We had been to Smith Mountain Lake and were looking for something closer. We loved Lake Gaston. It was clean and way bigger then we have envisioned. The house we rented was superb in its furnishings and decor. The view was awesome and allowed for viewing of the morning sunrise. We boated, rented jet skis, played mini golf and ate at the Kitchen table. It was wonderful!

The home was absolutely perfect for our family lake trip. The home has everything you need for a memorable lake vacation. We look forward to booking the property again!!

My Family had a wonderful time during our stay at Lake Gaston.

Loved the house, location and water view. House was very clean, spacious and great for multiple families getting together. Downstairs was perfect for kids of multiple ages. Best feature was long water views and depth of water.

This home is all as described online and more. Great furnishings, well decorated and impeccably cleaned. The two living areas and bedroom layout great for our extended family. We also had access to several outdoor water floats, paddle board and canoe as well as toys puzzles, and books for indoors. My goal of all my grandchildren catching fish was easily accomplished at the boat house dock. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise was watching the beautiful sunrise each morning from the upstairs master bedroom and screened in deck. 5 Mile Sunrise was a great vacation.

This house is a new rental so I had lots of questions. The homeowner was very nice and helpful and the ladies that manage the property are so sweet. This house is amazing!!! I cannot believe how spacious the rooms are. It’s super clean and very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with new pots and pans, glass Pyrex storage containers and frosty glasses in the freezer just to name a few. The kids watched movies downstairs while the adults enjoyed the main floor area- they loved “their space.” I liked that the house stayed cool, the AC definitely works! Our favorite spot was the screened in porch. There are a few trees that provide shade so you’re able to use it most of the day. This is now the family favorite of all the houses we’ve rented. You’re going to love the open, spacious rooms, coffee on the screened in porch and the view of the water. This house is well maintained so don’t pass this one up. Our family will definitely be back.
