This house was clean and well maintained. It had chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The kitchen was complete for anything you want to cook. It is bigger than the pictures show. Very close to ocean and some major stores. The yard is large and fenced.

We enjoyed our week stay at the beach house. It is a very short walk to the beach from the house. The house is in a great location with easy access to 12 and the main strip. The fenced in backyard was a bonus for our small dogs. The house had many new updates to appliances, floor and bathrooms. Owner communicated in a very timely manner with our code for check in.

We were very happy with this home based on the location and price range. The property manager was very responsive, and the check-in and check-out process was very simple. We traveled off-season, so the yard was not very tidy, but we made good use of the fenced yard for our dog, with supervision. All the the necessities were covered, and we were pleasantly surprised by some of the amenities not available at other nearby properties.

We stayed for 3 weeks while moving between homes - beautifully decorated and clean with plenty of room, even a desk and chair if you have to work during your stay. All one level and a large fenced backyard was perfect for us and our pups. We could hear the ocean waves from the yard, it was a short few minutes walk to the beach. Highly recommended!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in KDH! 3 adults, 1 teen and 2 dogs stayed in this well-appointed, cozy home and it was perfect! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It's in walking distance to the beach, so we went in the morning for sunrises and during the day for strolls. The house is conveniently located near everything...restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, etc. This was a great house for us as it's all one level and no stairs...our senior dogs appreciated that; and the back yard is fenced. The beds are comfortable, there's room to gather and hang out and room to sit around the table. The owner is very responsive and helpful; answered all my questions quickly and was a pleasure to work with. We'll be back to this house for sure!

Well appointed, well maintained, well located (1.5 blocks from the beach.) Lots of good restaurants nearby but the kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook some of your own meals. Engaged and responsive property owners made everything easy. If (hopefully when) we return to this area this is where we will stay.

The location of this property is very close to the beach and a very short walk to Avalon Pier and other amenities. We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, as well as how quiet the neighborhood was. Property was very clean. We had every small touch you could want in a rental property and Elwood was very nice to work with. Would love to come back again!

Elwood and Mary were absolutely accommodating..from linens, towels, soap, shampoo, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels…you name it…it was there!
The cleanliness of this property is beyond my expectations. It is evident they take excellent care of it.
They provide a parking pass for a nearby beach access. We used it daily as we had rented a golf cart.
Overall, this is a hidden jewel. We hope they will allow us to return next year!

Great stay, great location
Perfect rental for my family and dog! All of the little things that you might forget were taken care of by Elwood (linens for each bed, towels, condiments in the fridge, etc). Easy check-in process and short walk to the beach.

The Perfect Vacation Beach Home
This was our sixth home we have rented in Kill Devil Hills and by far the absolute best! It had all the comforts of home and more! The location was perfect, and it’s quiet and peaceful at night. My favorite was no stairs to climb! All communications with the owners were highly effective! If you’re looking for comfort and location, this is definitely the home for you!

Exceptional Stay!
Words can't express how wonderful our stay was at the cottage. Elwood was very communicative throughout the entire process ( at the very beginning when booking until the very end after we left). The cottage was emaculate. The cleanliness, personal homey touches and space was just enough for myself, and two 12 year old boys. Elwood and his wife went above and beyond to make our stay personalized as he had fresh bait waiting for my boys In the freezer upon their arrival. They were stoked! Additionally, the boys enjoyed the basketball hoop too! The location was perfect as we were able to walk to the pier daily to fish and hang out. Cute, little local restaurants were nearby in which were walking distance that we enjoyed immensely. Overall, our experience at the cottage was a beyond 5 stars! We will definitely be renting from Elwood and his wife again- very soon!

Wonderful place!
From check-in to check out everything was great here! It was clean and welcoming. Many things are provided that we have paid extra for at other homes. It is a short walk to the beach. The fenced in yard was perfect for our small dogs to roam and not have to be leash walked for every potty.
We love the OBX and plan on returning to this rental somentime!

Thanksgiving Holiday at the beach
We enjoyed our stay at this home. The house is in a great location that was easily accessible to the beach, restaurants, & stores. It was clean and cozy. However, we had plenty of room for our family to relax during the holiday. Our family had everything we needed to cook a nice Thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed gathering around the dining room table. The fenced in backyard was wonderful for our dogs. Wifi was available as well as cable tv. So we did not miss any football games. The owners were quick to reply when we had questions.

A much needed getaway
Elwood was fantastic from the very beginning. We were a little nervous because we have not been on a vacation in 7 years due to some health issues. He made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions almost immediately! We will definitely return, but will most likely come in the month of august. Many restaurants and shops had limited hours and we had a no swim advisory for the majority of the week due to riptides.
Even more reason to stay at this cottage because it was comfortable and they make it so homey! Lives all the extra touches, laundry machines, back yard fir the pup, all the beach things, really everything. Kitchen more than any place we have ever rented when it comes to being stocked.
Thank you so much for allowing us to get away and relax.
