Tranquil and spacious. Fireplace was lovely. Surrounded by beautiful nature.

How secluded and beautiful it is

It is the perfect location for those nature lovers or those that want to disappear from everything, we didn't even want to watch a tv. The hot tub was amazing and so peaceful and quiet. After arrival we did not plan to leave until departure date which was 3 nights. There were were cockatoos, magpies, rosellas and other birds visited all day long.
This was my second visit here this year February was hot September was cool and wet this place is amazing for any season
Roads driving in especially after dark was a little tricky but as it was our second visit we had no intention of leaving till departure date which was also part of the magic everything was home cooked.

Location is so close to Melbourne, yet it feels so far in the pace of living. Absolutely love the dandenongs.
There was plenty of wood we could use and even tho the town had a blackout, we've had a great time being warm and cosy in front of the fireplace. Gas cooking and water heating saved the day too!
The cottage itself is placed in a very lush spot with fern trees around. The sauna was pretty great - nice, hot and private, even tho we had to turn it on ourselves despite paying for the service.
I did enjoy the DIY of the stay tho - gives you sense that you're not just a guest.
We'll be back for sure!
Cleanliness wasn't the best - the cleaners who do the job don't really have an eye for it. I understand that it's probably a tad hard to find good cleaners in the area, but we had to wash the rangehood filter, as it was dripping old sausage grease onto the stove. We've also cleaned the pot belly wood burner's glass, so that we could see the fire inside. Also had to wipe dust around, so we don't eat it with our breathing.
We brought our own bedding after reading previous reviews about the cleanliness, so we had a great time there, would recommend doing the same, although the sheets were clean as they should be.
