Thank you for accommadating my daughter and her family. The pink cottage is truly on the lake. We spent much time on the screened porch with the lake breeze blowing in as we watched the Egret fly about on a daily basis. They will be back up in September. This was as quaint as you get. Very quiet even with other cabins around. To put your toes in the water within feet of walking out of your cabin is great especially when you have little ones. My husband and I only live 7 miles down the road but expect to get-away here for the lake and the peacefulness that your cabins provide. Sincerely, SCTucker

For the past 7 years, I have missed my relaxing, NH lake vacations. Now, I can't wait for my next one! I'm a native of Concord, NH and most of my family and friends are located there or nearby. This location was perfect for folks to come, hang out, enjoy the water and boats, and feast with me. Nancy and Lee keep the cottages and property neat and very clean and are very accommodating hosts, focused on making your stay the best possible. My only concern upon on arrival was traffic noise but by Sunday, it had become "white noise" because of the beauty and peacefulness of the lake. My sons, nieces, and nephews are mostly young adults. All of them started talking about what a great place/ location this would be to spend a week with family and friends. Friday, I was sitting by the water and my heart told me I was not ready to say good-bye so I called Nancy to find out if there was a cottage available for an additional night and happily there was. The better news was on Saturday morning when my sons announced they wanted to stay that extra day, too. They weren't ready to return to their Boston area, hectic lives. This property and location afforded me one of the best vacations with quality family time that I have had in a long time. Thank you, Nancy and Lee!!!!

With Winter approaching all too soon, I've been reflecting on what a great time I had when I stayed here in June '09. For a little over a week my husband & I rented a cottage & my parents rented one as well. We are still remarking about what a wonderful, relaxing time we had & plan to reserve for the same time next year. Nancy & Lee are the new owners of this property & have done so many improvements & provide a great experience. (Cottages had been grossly neglected for many years prior to their recent purchase) Upon arrival, whatever may not have been completely up to par, we pointed out with immediate remedy to follow. (ie, newly installed waterheater had not been switched on, needed a broom). All the basics were provided ie, clean linens, A/C, sm. flat screen TV/DVD combo, DVD's, toiletries, dish soap, sponge, sm.microwave, stovetop, sm. refrigerator, toaster, coffemaker, mugs, plates, cutlery. This family made us feel so welcome & bent over backward to accomodate us, so rare these days. However, as another poster pointed out, if you are looking for luxurious accomodations, please, look elsewhere. But, if you are seeking simplicity & pure relaxation, in a somewhat rustic, cute little cottage, in a small encampment at lakeside, this is it. You'd be hard-pressed to find better accomodations in the area for the very affordable rates. And, if you enjoy fishing, early one morning my step dad caught a 5+ lb lg mouth bass right on shore! Ahhh, visions of waking early to the gentle sounds of Loons with a cup of hot java in hand, watching Swallows swooping down over the lake while planning my day along with the choices of canoeing (graciously provided), fishing, swimming, lounging lakeside, a bonfire at night, S'mores (not provided) & my own little screened porch directly over the water where I can read, craft, play a game, casually entertain another couple or do absolutely nothing at all ... I can't wait to return next June!!! Many thanks to Nancy, Lee & Adam & we look forward to staying with you again in 2010!

Being from Gainesville, FL, that suited me just fine, GO GATORS!! :) The owners we such nice people. They strive to make your stay as pleastant as possible. I will definatley go back!!

I brought my best friend who is a native Floridian to tour my home land for the first time. The cabin was quaint and perfect. We were right on the water in the orange cabin and we enjoyed looking over the water and watching the ducks every morning over coffee. We were centrally located to everything and we were able to cover six states while we there. Lee and Nancy are wonderful hosts and hardworking people. They did everything to make sure that our accomodations were perfect. The cabins are clean and the property well-maintained. We loved the little sandy beach and the colorful cottages are so cute and rustic. If you are looking for a five star resort, then check into a Hilton. If you are looking for a nice quiet rustic little cottage on a lake and mingle with some very friendly people, then this is the place for you. Just a mile or so from the cottages is the Johnson's Family restaurant with the best homemade icecream and seafood ever! When we first got to the cottage, we had a minor problem with the bathroom which Lee fixed right away, and because of the problem, they gave us a gift card to a local restaurant. They are the best! Thank you so much!

We found this cottage online. We booked it over the phone with the owner for the first week of August 2008. When we got there... from a 6 hours drive, we were nothing but disappointed. First of all, all of the cottages are very close together - so there is no privacy, as you would expect cottage living to have. Also, if you plan on spending the week with another couple, you definitely need to rent two separate cottages, as the cottage is one room separated by a bathroom. It is NOT a two-bedroom cottage as advertised. Secondly, there is a 55mph highway 20-30 feet behind you... very loud and annoying. Thirdly, there was only one BBQ and one patio table set for everyone from all of the cottages to share. Can you imagine what dinnertime would be like with only one BBQ for 8 or so families? And to make things worse, the beautiful sandy beach they speak of is about 6 feet wide; it is a sand pit, not a beach. We told the owners that we were extremely disappointed and this was not what we were expecting at all. Lee only gave us 50% of our money back. We believe that a 20% deposit fee would have been fair in the circumstances. My advice to anyone booking over the phone is to authorize a deposit amount only, not the whole amount. Overall it was a terrible experience, and ruined our much needed and well-deserved vacation. We work hard all year to be able to have a nice, relaxing vacation in beautiful New Hampshire, and we ended up 50% of our money out of pocket and looking for another place to stay. We were prepared and looking forward to renting a cottage, however everything was booked and we ended up staying at hotels.

My children and I rented the "blue" cottage for a 3 day weekend. We had one of the best vacations ever. All the amenities were there, the cottage was clean, the beach and lake were so much fun...I wish we could have stayed for a week. Lee, Nancy and Adam are so friendly and accomodating. They are some of the nicest people we've met in a long time. We can't wait to go back (next time for a week!). So many great memories were made with our family this weekend...a big thanks to The Cottages at Harvey Lake!

We made a last minute decision for a quick getaway in June and were very lucky to hit a vacancy. We did some boating and fishing, found some great places to eat and absolutely relaxed. We will definitely return when the opportunity exists. You absolutely cannot do better for the price! CLR Swanzey, NH

I made reservations for this place because it was very close to the venue where our family reuinon was. i made many inquires to owner lee --i was assured all would be good... upon arrival we noticed a smell that resembled a boys locker room. we then noticed many spiders, and big white egg sacks as well--we went on a spider killing spree. but the bedding looked clean-we decided we could ruff it --we went and got some cleaning products and air freshener so we could make do. the word rustic dosen't do it justice- the windows had no screens-except on the porch. you could look down and see the ground through the floor boards. ants crawling on the wall near sink. Bring what ever you need-not much here. not even dish soap! no t.v., no microwave, and a group grill and a group fire pit! when i pulled back the blanket and moved the pillow-a big black hairy spider!! okay it is only two nights we can do this>>>> next morning we went to shower for our reunion---NO HOT WATER!!!!! called owner at 7:30 am and they said they wouldn't be around til 10!!! when they came i pointed out all the issues---apparently they are only nice when trying to take your money! not so nice when giving you a refund! but he did cut us a check! weren't sure if it would even clear...but so far --not returned. we left at 10:45 am without showers to go to a reunion!!!! now if your a fisherman who doesn't need a shower or minds bugs than this is the place for you!! the owners need to do some more repairs and these could be nice little cottages-also the bedrooms in the blue cabin we were in had two double beds- and not to uncomfortable. as i said the view of Harvey lake is the only good thing about this place. for the price- you can do better!!!!
