I stayed here while competing in the South Australian Hillclimb Championship at The Bend. Large comfortable rooms, not too far from the race track, and cheaper than the hotel at the track. The kitchen has everything I need to prepare food so I'm not living on takeout. My room was comfortable and quiet, I got a good sleep, and the place is close to restaurants and shops in Tailem Bend.
The booking.com listing was a bit misleading. I thought my room would have a private kitchen but it's actually a communal kitchen. Also the place is also not staffed, so I was a little worried about security.

Very clean, great facilities and just around the corner from the pub for a good feed.
It’s located just off the highway and traffic noise initially was a worry but slept ok. Owners have done all they can to mitigate the noise with shutters and double glazed windows, if it’s an issue ask for a room off the highway.

The breakfast was perfect for us but the facilities were there to cook yourself a breakfast if that is what you prefer. The location was perfect for what we required. It was walking distance to shops, Pub, Bakery. The whole place inside and out was extremely clean and it was so homely and beautifully decorated. Everything was perfect in our room. Chocolates were a lovely gesture as were the home cooked biscuits.
If I have to find a negative, it would be that every time I made a coffee, I thought I had spilt it because of the design on the kitchen bench.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic place to stay is that you could be sharing the kitchen and outdoor/indoor area with others.
