The Old Manor House Hotel

Lovely old character building, friendly staff and good breakfast.

Ideal for the centre of Keynsham.

Parking is a bit tight.

Very good location for visiting Bath. Just 5 mins walk to train station and just 2 stops to Bath. Very convenient. Staff very friendly + helpful. Food very good. Price very fair.

Only criticism was no hand soap in the bathroom Had to use the shower gel...

Car parking truly awful - do not enter unless you know there is a space and even then I would wish anyone good luck getting in and out- someone parked late at night and blocked me in. I had no idea whose car it was. I wanted to leave at 8.15am in the morning due to an appointment, but there were no staff in the hotel to find out whose car it was. Hotel was a ghost town downstairs not a member of staff at 8.15am. I felt totally helpless and I had to go up and down the hotel corridor asking who the car belonged to - I can only apologise to those guests but I had no other option. Eventually the chef turned up just after 8.20am and he rang the hotel manager who it seems lives in accommodation by the back garden. Turns out it was the manager’s car blocking me in. No apology at all, in fact he seemed more upset that we had disturbed him, despite me having mentioned to him when I checked in that I needed to leave at 8.15am. The reason I had mentioned this to him was because I was surprised to find out that breakfast did not start until 8.30am. I thought this was very late, so we were unable to have breakfast. The hotel is also very dated and noisy. Electric shredder in the toilet was noisy and we could hear people in the nearby room talking most of the evening. The one positive was the room was very clean. Originally planned to have our evening meal at the hotel, as we didn’t want to move the car out of the car park, but on seeing that the restaurant was nearly empty and it didn’t have any atmosphere, we decided to walk into town. I’m glad we did as we found a lovely Italian only an eight minute walk away.
