Babis Hotel

If your priority is a caldera view from your room, look somewhere else (and pay a quite higher price). Otherwise, this no-frills family-run hotel is a very good value for money option. Its location is very convenient: only a 15-minute walk to Fira, while scheduled buses connecting Fira to the airport and to the beaches on the eastern side of the island stop some 200 metres away. It's also an easy walk to a few cafes and restaurants, and a supermarket. The room I stayed in was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the fridge it was equipped with was a big plus. But the biggest plus was Babis and his father's hospitality and helpfulness: nothing seems too much trouble for them. They even offered to drive me to the Fira bus station at 4:30 am, when I was heading to the port to catch a ferry. Would definitely recommend.

The bathroom, and in particular the shower area, was a little small, but that's normal in Greece.

The people at reception were very welcoming and incredibly kind to me. They really did their best to help with anything I needed, which I really appreciated. The room was clean and very good for the price, and the bathroom had everything I needed. For a short stay of a few nights, I think it offers really good value. The pool was also very clean and refreshing, which was perfect after being out in the Santorini heat. The location is very convenient as well. It is close to Fira, and there is a direct bus to the airport nearby. The bus stop is only around 200 meters away, so getting to and from the airport was very easy. Overall, I was very happy with my stay. Thank you for the warm welcome and the nice experience.

The only small issue was that the shower area was a little small. I also wish the shower curtain had been a bit wider, as it would have made showering more comfortable. Apart from that, I was happy with everything.

La cosa che ci ha fatto più piacere è stata la disponibilità e gentilezza di "Babis". Sempre pronto a risolvere i problemi. La nostra stanza era un po' datata, ma confortevole e silenziosa. Colazione, anche se ripetitiva, buona e completa di dolce e salato. Pulizie e cambio asciugamani giornalieri. Ottima la piscina anche solo x rilassarsi a fine serata o dopo cena sui comodi lettini. Ottima posizione vicino alla fermata dell'autobus x visitare in ogni parte Santorini.

Non so se c'è un'alternativa, ma poco piacevole la tenda in doccia. Aggiungerei un piccolo stendino in terrazza, x poter asciugare i capi lavati e i costumi

La struttura si trova a 15 minuti a piedi dal centro città , consigliamo agli ospiti che leggeranno la recensione di non prenotare macchine/quad/motorini e tour su internet prima di arrivare in struttura , ma di contattare direttamente il Signor Babis che ha i contatti per qualsiasi attività sull’isola , inoltre ci ha seguito dall’arrivo al check out dandoci assistenza e informazioni importanti riguardo l’isola. Noi siamo albergatori e la struttura è decisamente sopra gli standard di un hotel 1 stella , sicuramente ci torneremo !
