Very clean and loved the decor. The place was well stocked and comfortable. The hosts were very nice. Scenic view of the Des Moines river from deck. I look forward to staying here again.

This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it. Nice touches like a personal note and muffins, plenty of coffee pods, detergent to run a load of laundry, all added to the very pleasant experience. The deck has a lovely view of the river. Very nice!

Property was centrally located to our friends, so very convenient. It was super clean and the kitchen was well stocked for our morning breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

It's got a great location, quiet overlooking the Des Moines River. Sitting on the attached deck was very relaxing. Interior, the decor was well executed, very complete place to stay. Four could easily stay here a month comfortably.
Another thing that impressed me was the completeness of the kitchen, some places say they've got a complete kitchen when they've got four knives spoons forks, four plates, four glasses. This location has plenty of not only plates but a reasonable selection of condiments and spices. Overall, Band-Aids and disposable razors.
Maybe the best way of saying it is our hosts wanted us to feel like family visiting. And I felt welcome because of it.
It's mentioned in the description but remember you do have steps to go up, the unit is on the second floor. There are hand railings on both sides, stairs are stable and it's well lit. Parking is easy and very accessible. If this was a chain I'd stay there all the time.

I booked my trip and immediately received a message from the property owner, Bev. She was kind, sweet and provided me with the check in process and, location. Once I arrived, the rental was exactly as described and pictured only...better if thats possible. The pictures do not adequately provide how spacious and immaculately clean the apartment is. I was able to check in with ease and received a charming hand written note with a little introduction, tips, her phone number in case I needed anything and freshly baked treats, which were welcomed and appreciated after a long trip with several hiccups in my journeys. I looked around the apartment and the place was spotless. The decor was charming, and very tastefully done.
It was warm, welcoming and comfortable. It felt like home away from home! The snacks and stocked K cups were a wonderful touch as well. Because of the cold weather, I didn't get out on the deck as much as I wanted but the view of the river was beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. The beds were amazingly comfortable and I slept like a dream! The stocked toiletries were also a welcomed touch. I wish I could give 100 stars. Not only for the quality of the apartment itself but for the kindness, great communication and how welcome the hosts made me feel. I can't say enough great things about the property or hosts. I will absolutely be revisiting. Thank you Bev and Jeff for making my stay memorable for all the right reasons.

What a great place to stay! This place was not our first choice but our other place was already booked, with that said THE SHOP is now the first choice anytime we go back. We enjoyed coming in from hunting during the day, cleaning up and being a short walk to great local restaurants and taverns. Once we get drawn again to hunt I will be booking THE SHOP way in advance.

We enjoyed our stay, the property had everything we needed for our long weekend. The home was clean and matched the description in the listing.
The entrance to the home requires you to climb a full set of stairs and may not be suitable for someone who has trouble walking. I would also advise to sleep with bedroom doors open as heating/cooling is only in the main part of the home.
Overall we would rent again! Thank you!

The apartment was so clean and the decor is amazing with such attention to detail. The hosts provided many extras including coffee, creamer and sugar. Soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner were stocked. We loved the balcony with the view of the river. It was a lovely stay. Thanks Bev!

Exactly what we were looking for! The proximity to downtown was perfect, the private 2nd-story deck overlooking the river was amazing, and the facilities were clean & comfortable. I grew up in Keosauqua and visit every few years, and The Shop will definitely be my go-to place to stay from now on!

Great Stay
We stayed for the weekend and very much enjoyed The Shop. The place has plenty of room, nice big bathroom and open living room area as well as nice kitchen. We found the place to be very clean and all necessities were available and included. Was also easy walking distance to the main street/town area. I also want to thank Bev as she was very quick to respond and communicate from start to finish. If needed, will definitely stay here again. Thank you for the great stay.

Perfect stay!
The owners carefully thought out this VRBO. Everything you would need for a pleasant stay was provided. Comfy beds, great location in town for walking. Nice deck to sit outside and relax. Very enjoyable stay while visiting family.

Great amenities, close to the river, Misty's Maltshop, restaurants and walking paths. The Villages of Van Buren County are within a few miles and Lacey Keosauqua State Park is right over the bridge. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, who are amazing people! We have already booked our next getaway at The Shop!

A must see!
I was amazed at the hospitality and kindness from Jeff and Bev! The place was decorated with a theme that we as a jeep club could relax and enjoy! The view from the deck of the riverwas gorgeous. And the walk to the Des Moines River where we did some fishing was short.
