Amaranda B&B

Amaranda B&B is an ideal place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location is great, especially if you are travelling by car, as there is parking available on the property, which would be very convenient when travelling by car. The host is absolutely lovely and very attentive. She communicates actively and is always happy to help if you have any questions or concerns. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We appreciated having a fridge in the room, as well as the complimentary bottles of water waiting for us on arrival. There was also a coffee-making facility in the room, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast is a typical Italian breakfast, so it is mainly sweet. But hey — you are in Italy, so just enjoy that delicious fresh croissant! The train station is about a 20-minute walk away. There are also some really nice restaurants within roughly the same distance, especially if you enjoy seafood. We actually enjoyed the walk, so the distance was not an issue for us. A grocery store is about a 10-minute walk away, and the bus stop is even closer — around a 5-minute walk. The local bus is also very convenient. You can simply tap your card on the bus to pay, and a ticket costs €1.40 for a 90-minute journey. We also used Uber from Catania Centrale to Amaranda B&B, and it cost us around €16.

Propre, sécurisé et confortable!

Clara was lovely and hospitable, providing extra pillows, large cups and without us asking, a kettle in case we wanted tea. The pool was large, clean and not too busy. Breakfast was simple but ample and very calm, often, we were the only ones there and Clara remained to pour coffee etc. (each morning there was toast, croissant, melon, cereal, preserves, banana, apple and plum and yoghurt ) There was a cold drinking water dispenser on the floor below. The B&B is in a secure gated community so feels really safe. Mandatory swim caps were provided along with some water on first arrival. The air con was really good and the bed was comfortable

All of this was made clear at the time of booking but we overlooked a few details that other travellers may wish to consider more carefully than we did The B&B is about 7km away from Catania and whilst there are two buses an hour in the Summer, it takes around 25 to 30 minutes to get in and out. It's probably more suitable for someone with a car. There are very few local amenities in walking distance, only a bakery about 10 minutes walk away. There were no restaurants, cafes, bars, shops etc in walking distance in the Summer heat. The pool. Is only open from 10 am and 2pm and again from 4pm until 8pm. It is locked at other times. There were CCTV cameras in all shared spaces which we didn't mind too much but we found the one on our balcony intrusive which meant that ee rarely used it. A clothes dryer on the balcony would have helped get swimwear and towels dry. We took pegs and pegged them to chairs but a dryer would have made life a bit easier as we swam every day.

La recensione non positiva è sopratutto nei confronti di booking che non verifica e tutela in alcun modo il cliente. Sono cliente booking dal 2017 ed ho all'attivo 40 prenotazioni, mi aspetto da booking che faccia delle verifiche preventivi sugli alloggi che siano guesthouse, bb o hotel. Ho aperto 2 segnalazioni per struttura non verificato ed è stata chiusa come motivazione "La pratica è stata risolta a favore del venditore, poiché l'articolo non era danneggiato, diverso o mancante di parti come hai specificato." Nel dettaglio ho riscontrato problemi di privacy si tratta di una struttura BB ed in ogni angolo ho riscontrato una telecamera. Visavamente ne ho contate 9, ma da una verifica più approfondita me ne risultavano 15. Ad un certo punto abbiamo avuto il sospetto che ce ne fossero anche in stanza. All'interno della struttura nei muri locandine con le regole da seguire ma nessun accenno al posizionamento delle telecamere e la conservazione delle riprese. Per quanto riguarda la colazione molto povera e sempre la stessa due croassant e poco altro. Anche nel locale colazione erano presenti telecamere e con la continua presenza della titolare a controllare la clientele che per questo motivo mangiava velocemente per poi uscire. Ho riscontrato le stesse lamentele in molte recensioni della struttura. Sembrava di essere sul set del grande fratello.
