We had an amazing stay at Casa Alvarado. It is a beautiful property on a gorgeous beach. You can snorkel right off the beach and see lots of cool fish. It was great to have kayaks and SUPs to use too. And what we didn’t expect is that you can see whales right from the property multiple times a day!Heidi was very communicative and provided us with plenty of useful information ahead of our stay. She helped with providing contact information for many local businesses like transport, ATV rentals, fishing and catering.Note that the property is quite remote and renting ATVs/side-by-sides is the best way to get around. Rentals are brought right to the property which was very convenient.We got catering from Martha for most of the dinners and some breakfasts during our stay. All the food was delicious and we highly recommend it. Martha even cooked the fish that our guys caught on their fishing adventure.The only hiccup during our stay was that the water tank ran out on our last day, which made for an awkward departure for us with not having running water.Overall, we loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a private beach getaway.

We had a wonderful stay as a group of three families with an age range of kids from 6-17. The relative remoteness of the location facilitated just hanging out close to home. Certainly ordering in the meals was an excellent choice as they were friendly and delicious and just meant less worrying about cooking and dishes. The house is a bit of a rough ride on a dirt road so it takes some time to get too and fro which also lends itself to just staying put although we did a day excursion to the west coast. Octavio was an excellent resource for shuttling around but make sure you bring lots of US cash to pay for everything. The house was spacious and well equipped and the proximity to the beach was the best part. We were treated to lots of nature shows and beautiful sunrises with the pelicans and fish feedings along the shore and dolphins and whales playing off shore. The hotel was also a good resource for their restaurant. All in all, it was an excellent place to just kick back and relax.

This is our second time visiting Casa Alvarado and it never disappoints. This year we had 6 couples staying in the Main House and both Casita's. The layout is perfect for this many people. We had practically the entire beach to ourselves. Carlos came to the house every day and took care of all our needs. He arranged transportation when needed, brought ice, firewood, water and anything else we requested. Grizelda and Lucy brought in a Mexican spread of food on two occasions which is always a treat. The boys loved taking the ATV's to explore the desert and town of Los Barriles while the girls played in the ocean on the paddle boards and sipped margarita's by the pool overlooking the beautiful ocean. We had dinner on the patio at the Hotel down the beach our first night and danced all night to music requests with a fun DJ. Susan is absolutely amazing to work with and helped plan the perfect trip for our group. We highly recommend this place for your next sunny beach vacation getaway!Suzanne Barlow Feb. 10-17, 2018
