We went for a weekend getaway for some rest and relaxation. This place was a perfect fit. They had everything we needed to enjoy coffee by the lake, movie night and listening to some classic records. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice unit. We had some issues with the door codes, but after that was resolved we had a great stay. We didn't have good cell connectivity, but one we were at the top of the driveway, it was fine.

We really enjoyed staying at Hummingbird Cottage. It is a beautiful, clean cottage on a stunning location overlooking the lake. The cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped. The hosts were extremely communicative and made sure that our needs were well-met. We would love to be back!

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Hummingbird Cottage. Upon entering, the space smelled so fresh and clean! The home is very cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time at SML! The owners are very responsive and even checked in via the app to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a perfect little place for a romantic and quiet getaway for two. I’ll definitely consider this property for future visits with my husband to the lake. A+

Our family decided to take a last minute trip to SML for my husband’s birthday and we couldn’t be happier that we chose to stay at the Hummingbird Cottage. Taylor made sure we had everything we needed and even checked on us during the stay. The cottage was immaculate! There were many board games to choose from, the kitchen had everything you’d need, and the view was beautiful.We enjoyed taking out the kayaks that were provided, fishing from the pier in the mornings and sitting by the fireplace at night. Would highly recommend The Hummingbird Cottage.

We had a great experience at the hummingbird cottage. Kali and Taylor were super responsive, easy to get a hold of and fast in communication. The cottage is on a very nice cove and we used the kayaks they had. The chairs on the boat dock are great for morning coffee and watching the mist rise from the water. The cottage was nicely furnished and the perfect size for my husband and I. We had a lovely time.

Loved the house! Liked that the dock is tucked away in a quiet cove, and loves the proximity to Jakes. Owners were excellent and communicative.

Fantastic little cozy cottage on the lake with private dock. Everything was clean and as-pictured in the listing. The owner was super kind and quick to reply with any questions we had. I do recommend bringing bottled water to drink while there as the iron content is high in the tap water there, but that was no biggie for us :)

Had a great time. House size was perfect for our family (2 adults - 2 young kids). Clean, with enough privacy. Spent most of our time on the dock, hanging out, fishing, and it was also great to have as we rented watercraft on multiple days.

Kali was an amazing host, excellent communication and super flexible with our needs. The cottage was so cute, *clean*, and accommodated my small group of friends. So close to bridgewater plaza, we rented a pontoon boat for cheap from Parrot Cove, which was right across the lake, then enjoyed a cozy night with a fire by the water. Will definitely come back again.

My dog, fiancé, and I had a great time here. It was so peaceful being right on the water. The house is very clean and had everything we needed. Not a lot of grass area for our dog to run around, but he enjoyed laying on the dock! Kali was very responsive and wonderful to work with!

The house was perfect for our girl's weekend. The home was clean and had everything we needed. The lake setting was quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed hanging out on the dock and kayaking in the cove. I would highly recommend!

We had an amazing time staying at hummingbird cottage. The place is peaceful and quiet and equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The kitchen is very well appointed and the wood burning fireplace is a perfect way to end the night! . Kali was responsive, kind and very helpful.

The whole experience from start to finish was perfect. Kali was the most perfect host. She was very prompt and informative with each question we had. The cottage was very clean and very cozy. We would definitely recommend.

Amazing host and property- The only thing that we would change would be the distance to get to the boat dock. We have an older dog and it was a rough road for her, but of course that is a personal need. Overall, if I could give it 10 stars, I would!!

Hummingbird Cottage was a great getaway in a beautiful vacation home on a lake with a dock for our boat. We loved that we could bring our dog who absolutely loves the water!
It was very clean & organized & very comfortable & the owner was very quick to respond to any questions that we had.
It is a steep walk to the dock but other than that we all really enjoyed our stay.

Me and my husband stayed at the Hummingbird Cottage for our Anniversary and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The Cottage is located at the end of the cove, so it was very peaceful. We had so much fun kayaking and playing games on the balcony.
We plan on booking again and bringing our children.
It's a beautiful place to make memories.

The cottage was adorable and spacious. The bedrooms were set up nice with functional space for personal items without clutter. The kitchen was well stocked as was the laundry station and bathroom. We loved this place and we will be back….. loved the kayaks! Our daughter had her first ride and a kayak experience at this house. She loves the lake. My son enjoys kayaks and playing in the water. He also enjoyed if your k an collection. Our dog loves the property and we enjoyed the fire pit

Stay on Smith Mountain Lake
Homeowners were wonderful. Property clean and well stocked.Home was cozy. But home was on a very steep grade to get to the lake.Ended up being treacherous for us older people. Also there was no yard or road to walk on. That was disappointing especially for walking the dog. We were unable to walk outside anywhere on the property.But it was a nice getaway for a week.
